What Is The Deal With The Pool/lake At AMS

Mon Sep 13, 2004 4:04 am

I just got back from Amsterdam today, my departure for my return was from gate C-8. Right outside there was an area full of water. I was wondering if any local people to AMS could answer why it is there. I have considered the elevation to be below water...
or a wading pool for hot personnel...

I can try to elaborate. It is not far from where the planes are parked, and it looks temporarily, made up by big steel beams that have been pounded into the ground, the shape is rectangular and the size I would have to guess (and probably be way off) to 30m x 20m maybe.

I was hoping some one working at AMS would know.
