IAA 2004 / Hannover

Tue Sep 21, 2004 11:43 pm

In two days starts the IAA 2004 commercial vehicles in Hannover, Germany.

Any trucks enthusiasts here ?

Mercedes is to present a new variant of the AXOR and the ATEGO. The Axor which was introduced to the market two years ago with only a tractor version (for sei-trailers) comes this year with a rigid version enabling it to be hanged to a trailer. Both the Atego and the Axor have been face-lifted and fitted with extra devices for air-conditioning, comfort of driving...

Scania is to show its Longliner which is already in service. The cabin of this Scania variant has left nothing to a 3 stars room !!! Too much in my point of view !!!

I used to drive one, does that count? When I visited England a few years ago, I was somewhat surprised at the difference between what we have, and what they have. Though, I did not get to look inside any of them while I was over there, most did not seem to have much room at all to them.

The cabin of this Scania variant has left nothing to a 3 stars room !!!
I equipped mine as follows:
Up Front:
CD Player
satellite Radio
CB Radio
Ham Radio (2 meter)
Radio Scanner

In the back:
13" TV
VCR
DVD

Thought about upgrading to a 19" with surround sound, but left the job before I had a chance.
Yay Pudding!

I personally do not find North-American trucks, MACK,... attractive. They are too big, as big the continent they work in !!!

Go3Team, you stopped driving !!! How come ? You left the raod and the steering-wheel ?!

I went to the IAA in Frankfurt last year and it was great. I went there by high-speed ICE train from Munich and the day was just perfect. It was however an exhibition for passenger cars. Anyone here going to the Motor Show in Paris?

Mack? Biggest piece of crap, I've ever drove.

As far as being big, they have to be. You would never find a lazy american to drive it, if it didn't have most of the comforts of home.
