Next Anet Meet Venue

Fri Oct 01, 2004 10:56 pm

With everyone suggesting places for the next meet we need to come to some sort of decision, the following proved to be the most popular, can we have a vote if possible??

PMI
DUB
CPH
PRG
FRA
ZRH
GVA

many thanks.....

Just to complicate matters, how about a ranking system ?

Mine would be

PMI 4
DUB 3
CPH 2
PRG 1
FRA 5
ZRH 6
GVA 7

That way, we add up all the choice 1's. If nowhere has a 50% majority, we add the 2nd prefs, and so on, until one place has a 50% majority. Ooh, proportional representation, how Continental !

Would be great to go spotting there. All those LH 744's  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

But I'll be too far away to come anyhow. Enjoy it everyone who attends.

Is the excuse-o-meter up fired up for this one too JGPH1A?

Or does it need a rest after AMS?

I would say ZRH, just for the great viewing gallery they have in the terminal area there... Also if it were possibly, the other spots around the airport grounds would be good too. Don't know how many hotels there are there, though.

DUB 5
CPH 6
PRG 3

Each voter votes once, and ranks all proposed venues that he/she wishes, and is free to add others to the the list, with an appropriate rank.

Any airport not included in a voters list is ranked as zero by that voter. Zero rankings will not be counted at all.

The ranking system means that as many people's preferences as possible are respected.

I guess we need to set a deadline for the final vote tally to take place. Suggestions ?

01NOV04 Sounds fair. Since I have proposed no venue myself, and can thus be considered a neutral party, I volunteer to tally the votes and present the results. Just call me the Independent Electoral Commission.

Addendum to rules.

If a voter wishes to modify their vote they may do so by posting new rankings. Only the voter's LATEST post (by date/GMT Time) will be considered in the final tally.

If you have it at DUB, then lots of people can take advantage of the SUPERB 732 before its withdrawn! Big grin That's worth it on its own!  Big grin

I sure will, Mr N, as to fly on a 732 in Europe will sadly be a thing of the past in, say, a year, so best to take full advantage of it before it's too late. And, more importantly, DUB is a superb city with plenty of great pubs.  Wink/being sarcastic

Did anybody figured out a MONTH yet?? Isn't that an idea as well to vote for?

But if this is the list to choose from, I take FRA

No points for the other airports...

And, more importantly, DUB is a superb city with plenty of great pubs.

February is cold as hell almost everywhere, so if it is going to be hold then maybe we should pick a more southern airport ? PMI sounds good, or why not some place on the Canaries, Funchal Madeira (alright, maybe a bit too far away) or MAD/BCE maybe.

Anyway, my vote is for March.

FRA is normally very cold - and snowy - in February. Well, it was Feb just gone when I was there.

5.PMI
6.DUB

Of course my favourite is MAD, but right now I think it would be easier to organize the meet at FRA.
