Check Out My New Horse!

Sun Oct 03, 2004 9:34 am

I've been wanting to get back into the show arena. This will be my new park saddle horse for the Amateur Park Saddle Division. His name is "And the Beat Goes On." I'm so excited about the next show season. The current owner, Dragonsmede, will hand over ownership at this years World's Championship Show. Then he's going to be sent to my trainer in Vermont for the winter and I'll be showing on the east coast regionals next year getting qualified for nationals.

Wait, wait let me guess, you bought it with your monthly allowance from daddy. Within a couple months we'll be seeing the infamous "My daddy doesn't love me" post. You're out of college, how about working for things instead of relying on pops?

Seriously, get a life man. I think you must have some personal vendetta against me or something. Why don't you go home to your highland park house, and take in the rich life in dallas buddy. (For anyone who actually cares, highland park is the wealthiest community in dallas, where JCS has a personal address.)

Concorde boy,

It's not a gaited horse. It's a park horse. We only do park walk (slow, collected sitting trot with lots of action), Park Trot, and Canter...a gaited horse will also have the slow gait, and rack. Just 3 gaits for me.

I thought gaited horse not only applied to 5gaited horses, but any horse that employs or is judged by exaggerated "action"?

...anywho, it's all crap to us Hunt Seat riders anyways  Big grin

Concorde Boy,

In Saddlebred talk, you are somewhat right. In Saddlebreds, you have many divisions. 3-Gaited and 5-Gaited are indeed gaited horses, but when we say a
"gaited horse" nine times out of ten, we are talking about a 5-gaited horse. Anyway, I prefer the Park/Three-Gaited horses to the 5-gaited anyway. The three gaited/park horses are very proper, upheaded, and have extreme action. Where as the 5-gaited horse is like hell on hooves. Those horses are some crazy mofos.

Five Gaited Horse: Just look at that crazy look in the horse's eyes! Legs flying everywhere!

Three Gaited Horse/Park Horse: Much more proper, collected gait.

Congrats...

I'll stay with my QH's and Paints...  Smile tho I did ride an 18.3 hanovarian in college that I loved  Smile

There was a girl yesturday at our benifit horse show barrel racing a pinto saddlebred... she did pretty good but she had no control over him and he would just grab the bit and run...
