Bush's October Suprise

Mon Oct 04, 2004 6:18 am

An incumbent should be 15 -20 points ahead of his oponent at this stage of a Presidential race but of course Dubya isn't.

What is the likely hood of Bush dumping Dick Cheney off the ticket?
Picking McCain or Giulani for VP spot.

Maybe carting out Osama Bin Laden in a staged attack?

Declaring another orange alert?

I am sure Karl Rove has some dirty tricks up his sleeve to seal a 2nd. term for Dubya.

I myself have thought that he will haul out Osama, saying we have had him for a while, it was a just a matter of national security that we kept it quiet as we debriefed him

His October Surprise is that he sucks at debates:

Mysteriously, Osama will show up out of nowhere. People will rejoice over "Fearless Leader" Bush, and he will take the election.

That is a likely scenario, if I were going to guess one, that would be it. Hell, Osama could already be dead, and they could have killed him in a staged attack.

If Bush falls behind, look for something strange to pop out of the Middle East.

Not very likely.

Maybe carting out Osama Bin Laden in a staged attack?

Would look staged, and turn a few heads. Could be done, but I doubt it.

Declaring another orange alert?

Hmm, the terrorists want to sabotage the elections, eh? Better stand resolute behind our fearless leader.... I would be shocked if we didn't see an orange or red alert around election day.

Either Osama "shows up" or WMDs are "discovered" in Iraq.

I would say that the alert level will be raised to orange or even red. Or Bin Laden all of a sudden is caught.

I've long thought that Bush will use the already-captured Osama Bin Laden as an election tool. Just keeping him in the freezer till it comes down to the wire.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see how successful (or disastrous) the Iraqi election are before the U.S. election?

As far a dumping Cheney and all his baggage. They could always use his heart problems as an excuse.

Fearless leader, or Fascist Dictator.

Really only two ways of saying the same thing, isn't it?

What fearless leader?

If the Bush regime carts out Osama this month, I hope the voters see that as rather suspicious.

What is interesting about the whole October Surprise concept is that there never actually has been one!

Guilani would be a much better candidate for VP than Cheney, by far. I'm surprised Cheney is up for a second term despite his health problems. "Stress" doesn't even begin to describe the job!

Besides if Bush did pick Rudy it would be a landslide victory for the campaign....

Great, another facist!  Yeah sure

Dick & Bush is slipping down in the polls and new reports about no WMD in Iraq aint helping them either.
I guess they're gonna have to cart out Osama Bin Laden as absentee ballots are being send out.

I don't care if it is to get Bush elected or not. I would be very glad to see this animal [Osama bin Laden] brought to justice. People who change their vote based on whether OBL is caught this month are not true to their party.

I would hope people vote on what's best for the country insted of what's best for there party.

Everyone wants Osama Bin Laden caught. If the Bush regime is secretly holding Osama Bin Laden as some sort of blue chip or wild card to win an election, then shame on them and they should rot in the same prison cell with Osama Bin Laden.

15-20 points ahead? WTF?

Why not? Listening to the Bush butt-kissers on here, Iraq was a grand idea and is going well; the economy is the best ever; we have the gays put in their place. If all this is true, then why ISN'T an incumbent up by 15 points?

But it's all not as good as the yes-men are saying it is. But it also begs another point, that people have to bring up, to be fair: if things are going as bad as many say they are, why isn't Mr. Kerry up by 15 points?

The press hasn't completly shook off it's love affair with Dubya since 9/11 and are still rather timid in attacking Dubya. Every attack the Bush regime throws at Kerry, the press runs with it.
Kerry has been more consistant than Dubya but the press isn't going to point that out.

That was pretty funny.

And Alpha, where in the world do you think the press has a love affair with Bush?

If they had one, you wouldn't have incidents where major news sources like CBS news try and purport forged papers as the real thing in the attempt to discredit the president.

Could you quote some historical data on that statement? I just feel that statement is bluster.
