Tonights Debate: Did It Change Anyones Mind?

Wed Oct 06, 2004 12:02 pm

It didnt change my mind at all, I felt that the questions asked were totally off center and were pointless. I think the commentater (forgot her name) did a horrible job coming up with the questions. I feel like she drew up a list of questions that she wanted asked and not the American people as a whole. I think it became obvious with the question she asked about black women and AIDS. Anyways, this debate did little to change my mind one way or another. I call it a draw.

Nope, sure didn't, it only strengthened my reasons to vote for Bush/Cheney.

No, it did not change my mind, nor will any of the upcoming debates.

I wasn't meaning it was supposed to change everyones mind, the point I was trying to make was the questions asked were pointless. I dont think they answered anything that we didnt already know.

That "woman" is Gwen Ifill who co-hosts the Jim Lehrer hour. She is smart as a whip and I find it rather amazing that you think that the issues of black women and people with AIDs are not the issue of the "American people." There are other issues of importance besides Iraq and 9-11.

USAirways757,

You mentioned in another post how pointless these political threads are getting. And I agree with you.

Everyone on here has become so "publicly positional" that they HAVE to 'stay the course' and keep supporting their candidate.

I haven't seen one person in this forum admit that they are changing their vote for any reason.

Worse: I think that the number of truly undecided voters is much smaller than anyone is expecting. I think there are very few votes up for grabs - and very few people who will cross over (either direction) at this point.

To echo your sentiments, Concord977, the debates are certainly not targeted at those who have already made up their minds, which almost equally certainly describes the greater percentage of a.net non-av posters of legal voting age. IMO, the deliveries of how well the respective candidates did are probably just as practiced as the debates themselves, and perhaps only did last Thursday's surprising disparity really undermine the effectiveness of doing that. But tonight, where no one could arguably have done much better or worse for himself or his candidacy, of course they're going to blow their own horn. They both landed a few blows. In the only time in the ring. If you're still undecided, then tune in Friday, I guess. I don't see too much coming from this.

Just my two cents,
-Mike

Nope and obvioulsy the A.net sensors are in full force. The Debate thread is gone. Must mean that Cheney smacked Edwards.

LOL, would anyone like to predict the controversy that comes out of this debate?

Cheney shitwrecked Edwards with the "Senator Gone" comment... that was freaking hilarious.

The Democratic Party and their ticket is still living up to my lack of expectations of them.
