Itunes Users - MP3 Files Possible?

Thu Nov 04, 2004 7:40 am

Hey gang,

I have Itunes on my computer and I'm enjoying it very much. But now I'm interested in making some MP3 CD's for my car CD changer. Is this possible with Itunes? Or do I need some other media format?

Any answers are appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know if you use the iTunes Music Store, but I'm not sure that you can burn your iTunes purchases to CD in MP3 format.

I know you can't convert your purchased music to MP3 for piracy reasons, and I'm pretty sure burning an MP3 CD is the same way.

You can. It´s just slightly less comfortable: Burn a normal audio CD and then re-rip it to mp3. You´ll get a lightly reduced audio quality, of course, but it´s still possible (and even legal as long as you´re doing it within your proper usage rights).

Apple is relatively decent about this...
