Personally, I think that any election related signs whether Bush, Kerry or a local politician should be taken down this week. It's always annoying to see people still have election signs on their lawns at Thanksgiving time!

I'll keep my W '04 sticker on my ride for a bit, then probably take it down and hang it in the garage or put it on my flight kit....

However, I would like a "I Support President Bush" bumper sticker now.

Jan 20, 2005 - Inauguration Day. If the liberals can complain about the 2000 election for 4 years, why shouldn't I be able to gloat for 2 months? It only seems fair.

I took all my signs down this morning.

The were of course for Kerry, Truran, Coreveau and "no" on Prop 2, all losers, but I think homeowners should be repectful and remove them right away.

Even if Kerry had won, I would have taken mine down. They just don't need to be up.

Yard signs are supposed to be down 30 days after the elections, but I think mine is coming in this weekend to go on the wall with the license tags and other yard signs.

The sticker on the car will probably stay on until the certification of the vote in the House of Representatives.

or..

When they go to have a garage sale, just ask them if they can sell your Bush signs for you...

Kerry signs should come down ASAP, Bush signs should come down not long after. Bumperstickers and such are alittle different, but shouldn't be left on much past January I don't think.

I believe TX law says all signs must be down or taken in 15 days after the election.

Bumper stickers are another story.

In Tampa, a radio station had a contest, after the '00 election, that gave a big prize to whom ever brought in the most old signs. It was amazing how fast all of 'em went away.

Got one for you guys.

About two years ago they where renovating the local REI store here in Anchorage.

It is in the building that many many moons ago held the local Montgomery Wards for years.

Anyway they where removing the facing and found a 12 foot long Nixon-Lodge campaign sign.

I'll see if any the historians here can figure out what election that was  Laugh out loud

What an interesting "What If?" question the '60 election would be if Nixon had one that one.

I was born about a month into JFK's presidency, and that whole "Camelot" thing really holds no magic to me. I once worked w/a fellow who was in government in the early 60's, and he said that if you wanted a honest look at the Kennedy administration, read a newspaper from the day BEFORE the assaination.

Well that pretty much gives away your egoistic and selfish way of thinking. Don’t you fell any social responsibility?! Many people are not so fortunate to have proper jobs, and it's a**holes like you (along with the other republicans) that force them to hit the streets.. I can't believe that people can be so centred around their own little material world that they can't see the social problems that tag along with poverty and a social divided society...it is somewhat scary thought that the fate of our earth is in the hand of a medieval minded mad-man such as you and the likes of the L-188! You people disgust me beyond anything... To be honest I hope that you will to face personal bankruptcy someday, that might expand your selfish little mind beyond the spoiled selfish "rich-boy" stage which it seems to be fixed at. One can only hope that you people will reach the same mental capability as the rest of the modern world before it is too late......

Now... Stone Age people (Republicans, if you haven't got the brains to figure it out yourselves): flame away!

RE: A true Medieval Minded Madman should have a harem of Wenches.

Upon consulting the vast cultural database on the subject (Errol Flynn movies, mostly), I find that that the true Mediaeval Minded Madman was barely if ever surrounded by wenches. In fact, they were mostly surrounded by like-minded souls in badly-knitted chain mail and identical shoulder-length pageboy haircuts, and large voracious hounds. Wenches, if any were encountered in their daily round, would inevitably run screaming. This all sounds like you to a tee, L188  Laugh out loud

Dalmations are not what might be termed rugged or butch dogs. Proper Mediaeval Minded Madman hounds are great shaggy Irish wolfhounds that can chase down cheeky but loveable poachers' children and savage them unmercifully. Dalmatians are acceptible only for Scruffy But Not Unattractive Struggling Musicians or Hard-Bitten And Psychologically Scarred But Reformable Firefighters.

As to Randy Wenches, well then I'm afraid you're in the wrong category. Randy Wenches are made available only to the Noble And Misunderstood But Still Approachable Folk Hero, the Rough Diamond Anti-Hero Sidekick, and Sleazy But Comical Musical Relief. Since I'm afraid you don't fall into any of the above categories, your choices of Wench are limited to The Aged And Fussy But Underneath It All A Heart Of Gold Chaperone Of Randy Wench, or the Bawdy But Tolerant Barmaid Who Appears In The "Hero In Unconvincing Disguise Overhears Plot Against The King In A Roadside Tavern" Scene. Please specify when submitting your request in triplicate.

Raquel Welch ? How old are you anyway ? Did you fall into a glacier and get frozen for the last 30 years ? She was hot about 50 years ago, now definitely on the "brought to you by DuPont Plastics" over-corrected list.

Anyway, Raquel Welch is restricted for use by Four Musketeers or George Harrison in dinosaur-skin loincloth only.

Re: " I can't believe Americans have signs for politicians in their gardens (it would be extremely laughable to see that in Europe) "

Seb - Americans still cherish the hopelessly deluded fantasy that politicians serve the people with the aim of improving their lives, rather than just clubbing together to keep their crooked business buddies out of jail (which, as we in cynical and world-weary Europe know, is the real aim of all politicians). To this end Americans manifest their dogged and entirely unecessary support for their candidate (unecessary indeed, for the winner is decided whosevers business lobby bungs in the most cash).

Like all good prostitutes, politicians provide the best service to the people who throw the nicest parties, and otherwise apply no kind of standard whatsoever. You can have all the signs in the world up in your garden, but if you aren't a lobby group with millions in the bank, after the election is over, you won't be hearing from them again.

I took the bumper sticker that read "I Stand with President Bush" out of my kitchen window, and the autographed picture of W that I received a few months ago after contribuiting to the campaign. My "Bush Cheney '04" sticker is still on the back of my car.

For those W supporters not in the know, you can now buy your VICTORY merchandise at: http://www.georgewbushstore.com Cigars, t-shirts, bumper stickers, coffee mugs, you name it. I bought a shirt, stickers, and a victory cigar for my buddy yesterday.

When I was a kid, things were not going so great financially for us...we were likely eligible for welfare BUT we said that was for the "poor" and I turned out ok...and my parents were Republicans so I became one also...because we wanted to do for ourselves and NOT have the govt do it for us which is the Dem way.

So NOT all Reps are rich...some just want to become it and feel that is the best way!
