Ships And Rail Websites

Sat Nov 06, 2004 12:02 am

Hey,

I soon need to do a school report about ships and trains are another hobby of me.

So does anyone know, if there any websites like airliners.net, so with photos, news and forum for trains or ships?

Thanks for your help. Any information welcomed.

Regards

I know nothing about trains, but there are loads of ship websites about:
http://www.shipspotters.com - they're trying to do for ships what airliners.net has achieved for aircraft; http://www.shiplovers.de - all in German but that will be ok as I see you're based in Germany; and I have to mention my own one http://www.shipimages.co.uk which has a (very slowly!) growing forum on it. Big grin

From those links, you''l find loads more as there are loads of ship websites out there, some better than others. Happy browsing!  Big thumbs up

http://www.railroad.net has quite a few good forums. However, most of the popular ones deal with Amtrak and major commuter rail lines in the Northeast. Still, there are a lot of forums, and the people over there are both extremely knowledgeable, and really polite. I often enjoy going over there, and it is quite a nice site.

Try www.trainsmag.com

It's the site for Trains Magazine, which has daily news updates, forums, stories, etc, all about the railroad industry. You should find some useful info there.

Here's a link for USA steam engines. Last time I was on it, it was a very good representation of the steam era. Plenty of other links from it as well. Regards.

Hey guys,

thanks for all your great ideas, I will look at them all, step by step. But they should help me to find for information I'm looking for (nothing specific, actually).

To L410Turbolet:
Two sites about busses that I know off:
http://www.swb9001.de , a privately produced web-site about busses in my hometown Bonn, Germany.
and
http://www.stadtbus.de/, news and reports about was going at German bus transportation companies.
NOTE: Sorry, both sides only in German language.

So thanks again.

Regards from Germany
