"Rainbow" UK Kids TV Program

Sun Nov 07, 2004 3:20 am

UK guys, remember the children's program "Rainbow"??

I know kids wouldn't pick up on any innuendo, but I find it hard to believe this website is completely truthful...

Surely that clip wasn't really broadcast to 1000s of children in the 80s?!

Do you think that was scripted on purpose. I've been scared for life now watching that clip. I used to love Rainbow, it was one of my favourite programmes, alongside Button Moon, ah the good old days.

Oh my God, that is f#cking fantastic!!!!  Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up  Big thumbs up

As a small child I used to watch Rainbow and can well believe there was tons of innuendo which you just don't pick up on as a kid. It's probably one of those programmes which are funnier for adults to watch than the kids themselves! This particular clip seems just too good to be true though. Maybe they made it as a joke during recording 'proper' episodes.

My favourite part of the clip has to be when George says he only has a small twanger and Zippy takes a quick look under the desk to check Big grin

BTW, just loved Geoffrey's rainbow sweater!!!  Smile  Smile

The clip was never broadcast on TV. My sister has a book about Rainbow called "Climbing High" which was published in 2002 (and is very funny, should anyone be interested...). The clip was apparently written for some sort of behind-closed-doors insider competition and was never meant to be released to the general public. Fortunately, enthusiasts have managed to get their hands on it, and it's now on the web for all to see!
