Movie ID Needed

Sun Nov 14, 2004 2:10 am

I have been trying to find a movie I saw a few years back, but never caught the title a I did not see it from the very beginning.

It was made sometime in the mid 90's. It starred Kurt Russell.

Basically the plot was that Russells character and his wife were driving cross country. They broke down somewhere in rural Nevada. A trucker offers to give the wife a ride into town to make a phone call. But she ends up getting kidnapped and held for ransom by the gang that the truck driver was a part of. Russell then spends the rest of the movie trying to rescue her, but finds that a lot of the "strangers" are part of the gang.

The movie ends with the climactic car versus truck chase and the kidnapper (the original truck driver) ends up at the bottom of a river and his truck goes over the bridge and crushes him. Russell and his wife are happily reunited.

I think the imdb is the best website on the net. Other than a certain aviation site.
