I heard the TSA
was back to the grope checks at the gate, which were discontinued a while back because they were found to be redundant.
I actually think the primary job of the TSA
is to cause paranoia and keep people from flying out of fear because they certainly aren't there for our safety.
Think about it:
You now have to arrive 2hrs before your flight, so now day trips are all but impossible to do by air for businesses.
You now have to have your privacy invaded and your luggage searched, causing your clothes to get wrinkled and anything delicate you have packed to get destroyed.
You now need to show your ID
for everything at an airport, probably even to take a piss if the TSA
had their way. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but it sure is a hassel and gets to be more than a little stupid after you show your ID
at check-in then at security.
You have to have your dignity removed at the security if you are one of the lucky people who gets to take off your shoes and get felt up by an ugly pant-load who wasn't smart enough to get the manager job at McDonalds.
If you show any interest in actually flying or act even halfway happy to be there you clearly must be a terrorist, so you need further searching.
Packing anything in a carry-on is no longer a great time saver, now it is a sure way to spend 20 minutes at the security checkpoint.
I really think it is a miracle anyone still travels by air. The airlines are in for a long, rough, few years with increasing fuel prices and fewer people wanting to deal with the BS
of flying, especially on shorter routes where driving is becoming more practical every day.
BTW I think we must belong to the same terrorist group. I wonder if Johan handed over his user database to the TSA
or something because I have no idea what else it might be about me that makes me such a threat.
Things were better when it was two guys in a dorm room.
