NFL Week 13: How'd Your Team Do?

Mon Dec 06, 2004 12:14 am

OK...well its crunch time for alot of teams. Do or die as they say, and the Falcons can wrap up the division with a win today as well as eliminate the Bucs from any contention AND gain some satisfaction for the efforts of Sapp and company a couple of years ago displaying a complete lack of class when they were in ATL and mocked the fans while beating the Falcons.

We can win and do it with class. I'd like to see this happen and the see if we can run the table through the rest of the schedule.

What about your guys?

Looks like its going to be a rematch of the Divisional game last year...Eagle vs. Packers...who could forget one of the greatest plays in Eagles history in that game...4th and 26 in the 4th, season on the line, McNabb throws a 28 yard pass to "4th and 26 Freddie Mitchell" for the first down, keeping the drive alive, leading to a tying FG and then a winning FG in OT...kinda stinks though, the game is actually going to be televised here (Eagles games are usually shown here in DEN unless its primetime), but I have other things I have to do so I won't be able to watch  Sad

New England at Cleveland? With the Browns starting a rooking Quarterback, who hasn't played a down in the NFL?

Maybe we know the reason Butch left this week.  Big grin

Panthers are playing the 'Aints this weekend. The 'Aints have the worst defense in all of the NFL. Hopefully we can win this one and take our streak to 5 in a row to keep the playoff run alive.

Go Panthers!

As for the Bears, well, I don't even want to think about it right now.

Ah, thanks USAFHummer, for the memories..  Yeah sure

Just kidding, but that games really pisses me off to this day. I feel the defining play was the Packers punting it on 4th and less than a yard from the Eagle 40, thus allowing 4th and 26 to happen. You gotta play to win, not to not lose.

Question: what does an NFL team do, if they have the #2 or #3 overall pick coming up in the next draft and you need EVERYTHING?

Joey "The Joke" Harrington and the Detroit Lions defeat John "The Future Joke" Navarre and the Arizona Cards, 26-12.....the Lions actually win a game at Ford Field.

Next week should be interesting....at Green Bay....the Packers are currently getting the pack wacked out of them by the Eagles....they actually moved the start of the Lions-Packers game next week from 1pm to 415pm so more of the nation can watch this......um......game.  Confused

Saints tap out, 32-21, after being down 26-7 at the half. The Haslett/Loomis/Mueller firing watch is on. Too bad we can't fire the owner, Tom Benson.

Combined with the fact that the Hornets are 1-15, or whatever they are, make the Louisiana high school football championships in the Superdome next weekend all the more watchable.

E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles!!!!!!!

Green Bay isn't a bad team, and the Eagles are destroying them 47 to 3. It has been all Eagles today. Great to see the Eagles handle a good team with a good running game so easily.

Dragon-wings, so glad that you have finally come to that realization. Here in Philly we have known the Giants sucked for years.

EAGLES 4 TIME NFC EAST CHAMPIONS

To think the NY papers acutally thought the Giants would be good this year.

Well for the first 4 or 5 games the Giants were playing pretty good, then it went all down hill.

And being the 4 time NFC east champion is good, but they have yet to make it into the superbowl. Last 2 seasons they choked in the playoffs.

The Panthers won their 4th game in a row today to move to 5-7. To think this team was once 1-7 and playoffs were the furthest things from their minds. Now they are right in the middle of the wildcard picture one game behind the Rams. And its ironic that the Rams are who we play next, no doubt that will be a huge game for us!

Go Panthers!

oh...my...God!

I know what it is...I jinxed us by posting the thread too early. Next week I will wait until the game has started prior to putting it up there. The only other time we got our asses kicked like that was when I posted the thread too early. I think I sat wrong and failed to wear my lucky Falcons shirt....

Damn, that sucked. Vick took a hit to the forehead that left him with a serious bruise and seemed out of it from then on. His timing sucked and he had major fumbleitis. Maybe we should have given him the 2d half off to rest for Oakland next week and let Schaub have a turn. I hope the man ain't concussed.

We need to get up big time for the next game, and figure out how to consistently beat Tampa. Their defence seems to be geared toward stopping us.

This sucked!

A last second 60 yard FG try by the Jags are no good, meaning Ben Roethlisberger remains undefeated as a started and, more importantly, PITTSBURGH WINS!!!  Big thumbs up

That kicker barely missed that 60 yarder! He nailed it, but it went wide right by no more than a foot or so. That would have been pretty damn amazing.

But Big Ben brings them back once again. The kid is amazing. And like I said, he should have been the first QB taken last year.

They were talking about the on the Fox post game show after the Giants lost. They said that if the Giants didn't make the trade for Eli they would of picked Roethlisberger and Eli would of been picked by Pittsburgh.

Anyone think that there could be 3 15-1 teams come the end of Week 17? Checking the schedules, all three 1-loss teams have fairly easy schedules left...at worst all three will go 14-2 but I can see at least 2 15-1 teams finishing out the season...

The cardinals starting the scout team, actually hung with the lions for the first half. Then their lack of talent and any semblance of an offense caught up with them. You know their defense really isn't that bad, as long as they aren't on the field the WHOLE game.

In other news, due to the lack of successful quarterback play, Dennis Green convinced Randall Cunningham to come out of retirement. When asked why Cunningham, he remarked that Jeff George was not available. If Cunningham loses his start next Sunday, Green says that AZ Diamondbacks 50th rd pick Kyler Newby will start the following game. Finally if that doesn't work, Green plans on giving mascot Big Red the starting nod.

Vikes lost again... Tice can't win in December. 24-14, disgusting as it came at the hands of the rudderless Chicago Bears.

Fantasy - 6-7 in one league (just locked up the final playoff spot) and 13-0 in the other. You know guys, we can just forget about the playoffs and end it here... that's fine with me Big grin.

Steelers 17-16
Made a field goal with 23 seconds on the clock, making it the 17-16, then JAX attempts to kick a field goal with 4 seconds on the clock, but misses by a few feet. Then Rothlesburger (can't spell it) does his victory dance Big grin

Falcon...I have no idea. They had their heads up their 4th points of contact.

The opening drive was very straightforward and we ran down to their 4 yardline before throwing an interception in the end zone. We gave up two t/o's deep in our territory and fundamentally gave the game away. You're right, they must have done a personality swap with the Browns for a game. Heres hoping it only lasts a game.

My Brownies lost again, but this season is over anyway.

Next season, the Browns will surprise lots of people. We will have an actual player personel department, a new coach, and in essence two full drafts entering, because Winslow and Sean Jones, our first and second round picks this year, will (hopefully, but hey its the Browns) be healthy, and then next years draft. With lots of room under the cap, they can go out and get some free agents. This is why the Browns Coaching position and GM job will be the most desirable open jobs in football.

I just realized how pathetic the NFC is. The Falcons, Packers, and Vikings all lost. The Eagles really are going to walk right into the Super Bowl, while there will be a slugfest in the AFC between the Patriots, Steelers, Colts, Jets, and Chargers.

Once again both of my teams (Eagles & Patriots) won their games. Those 2 teams along with the Steelers now have 11-1 records for the season.

One week closer to the Super Bowl.

Granted, it's still a way's off and anything can happen but I find my asking myself:

Will it be a Keystone Bowl (Eagles vs. Steelers) or the battle of my homebases past & present (Eagles vs. Patriots)?

Time will tell.

Next season, the Browns will surprise lots of people

I heard that before this season started... and last season... and the season before... it's getting old. The Browns suck and will suck for some time to come there's no denying it.

Anyway, da Stillers just barely pulled out a win, but it was a W nonetheless. 11-1 and a good shot at homefield advantage is alot more than I expected at the beginning of the year.
