Painful December

Tue Dec 07, 2004 6:42 pm

This December seems to be a painful month for us...
My girlfriend had to be operated for an inguinal hernia on the first and had to stay two nights in hospital. She was released on the third, and I have to clean the wound every day until the stitches can be taken out on coming Thursday. This being painful enough for her, yesterday we got a call from her brother in Holland, with the news that her mother suffered an internal bleeding in the stomach. The doctors can´t do anything for her, it´s just a matter of time. I booked tickets to go over on Thursday afternoon, after visiting the doctor to have the stitches taken out. I hope travelling won´t be any problem, but she´ll want to go anyway. Hopefully we´ll arrive in time.
On top of that, her mother´s birthday is on the 25th.
Boy, what a nightmare...

Good Luck Buddy and I wish her well. December is not the best time of year for me as well due to girl instances in the past that still haunt me today.
I hope everything works out well for you and your girlfriend. All the best

Thanks for your support guys.
We´ll try to get the stitches out this afternoon instead of tomorrow, because I don´t know how long it will take and we have to fly to Brussels at 12.40.

777ER, I´ll try to explain what an inguinal hernia is: a small opening (fracture) in the bottom of the stomach, and when there is too much pressure on it due to extreme coughing for example, part of the intestines go through the opening and get stuck in the fracture. It can be dangerous and sure hurts like hell, and that´s why my girlfriend had to be operated at once.

Quite ironic that her mother also suffers stomach problems, but in her case she can´t be helped. I just hope we can get there in time before she dies.
