I was pulled over once but didn't get a ticket.

Otherwise, and especially since then, I do not do anything to attract the attention of the state troopers on the highway. I find that under most conditions I can sail along between 75 and 80 mph (posted limit on most interstates around me is 65) without a problem. Fast enough to get around the slow pokes and to convince me that I am making good time, but not fast enough to attract the attention of the police.

caught ? never been caught.

I've had a ticket for doing 134 kph in a 90 kph zone though.

The fastest I have driven being 210 kph, but I will not tell when and where.

I got caught speeding doing 48mph in a 30mph zone, and 47mph in a 40mph zone, each time I got £60 fine and three points.

Me 130 MPH
My Wife 146 MPH

Both in a Nissan Skyline R34 on the Bangna Trad Expressway going out of Bangkok. Didn't get caught though (not that it would matter even if we did!)

An acquaintance had one framed, hanging on his wall. He was written for 165 mph on Interstate 5 near Buttonwillow California. He was timed by an airplane, which he outran, and stopped by a CHP car ahead of him.

You can outrun the car but you can't outrun the radio.

Knock on wood (my head), no speeding tickets for me yet! However, it's of course kind of relieving that there are still some places where we're allowed to do as much as we want... and yes it does feel good.

Best speeding ticket story is from a freind of mine who was doing 95 MPH on a motorbike in Britain. The cops pulled him off the motorway to the next junction (or exit), whereby the cop got out of his car and said to my friend, "Evening, Wing Commander. Having trouble getting airborne are we?"

Caught: never, as I don't really speed
Did: 230+ in a 911 C2 at night...didn't dare to go any faster, since at night there was less traffic, but when going that speed, things come at you VERY quickly... Big grin

Fastest I've ever gonna is 121 mph in a 55.

Worst I ever got ticketed for: 91 in a 60. (Cop dropped to down to 81 after I told him that I had just caught my then-girlfriend in the shower with another guy, while we were on vacation together!!!!  Angry Slut!)

My little brother was ticketed at 124 MPH in our father's GT-V6. The cop called our father who came and picked Kieran up (amazingly the police officer allowed him to avoid jail and return with Dad). Our father simply wanted to know from my brother "How did you do that?" meaning how did you talk your way out of going to the hoose-gow. Little brother misunderstood the question, thinking he was being interrogated with a "how could you do this to us type question) and, trying to mitigate punishment by showing some sense of responsibility, replied "Well, Dad, I was slowing down 'cause I saw someone flashing their lights to signal there was a cop ahead, and I just could'nt get slow enough to avoid getting caught."

Needless to say , even though Dad was quite impressed by little brother's ability to talk his way out of going to jail as well as his driving ability, he was removed from the insurance policy after than and had to use his own car for anything he wanted.

Did 160 kph all the way from Kassel to Puttgarten this past summer. I suppose that's the fastest I've done - wanted to go faster, but the car was loaded pretty heavy, so I didn't want to risk anything.

Kinda fun to drive 10 km's without seeing any other cars in either direction Big grin

A few years ago I got stopped doing 89 mph in a 65 mph zone. I can't say where, this took place while I was visiting a place I probably will never return to so I never paid the fine.

Worst ever was 95 mph in a 55 mph going to work late. I came up behind the sheriff, and he gave me a ticket for 85 in a 55. I should have been pulled over for doing 110 mph on I-5 chasing after a girl we thought was cute...but no one saw me... Smile

Well, I don't actually drive, but I've not been with someone who got caught. Fastest on a motorway about 120mph, Plymouth to Heathrow in under three hours, that was going some Big thumbs up Country road, 105mph very early one Saturday morning last year with no one about, and on a single track 70mph, only a few days ago coming home late at night through well known lanes, that was quite fun Smile

80 in a 65. No breaks though. I was in my Alfa Romeo speeding down highway 280. I got pulled over by CHP and the officer came up to my car and just looked at me for seemed like several minutes through his mirrored sun glasses. I noticed his name tag "R. McDonald"...I could not resist. I will have a Big Mac Large Fries and a Chocolate Shake. My GF at the time started laughing so hard... Officer McDonald was NOT amused. BUSTED....

I have gone MUCH faster but NOT been caught... I am LOOOOOONG over due.

Wow, some of you guys are lucky never to have been caught speeding. I've been caught at least 5 times, but I always speed, seems I can never go slow, damn! The fastest I've gone is 230 km/h and that was in a Mercedes SLK.

The fastest speeding ticket in SA was given to a guy driving at 270 km/h in a 120 zone, but hey, he was driving a Ferrari 360 Spider!

I've done 250km/h on the autobahn between FRA and Heidelberg several times this past summer. Audi A4, Volvo S80, MB C230.

Fastest my truck ('04 Chevy Silverado Diesel) will go is 100mi/h. Glad I'm the IT department for all my county offices.  Big grin

Farthest from the limit I've done sofar is probably about 120km/h or so in a 90 zone. But hell everyone goes between 120 and 140 there there, even the rcmp. (yes, in winter there are quite a few people that go sliding into the ditch along there)

Never got a speeding ticket, though it's only a matter of time:

- 90 mph on I-90 between Seattle and Mercer Island, on the floating bridge
- 85 in a 60mph zone through Seattle and I-5 up to Everett
- Fastest was 95mph in SW Washington on I-5, posted limit is 70mph.

one night i was coming back to dubuque from a show in iowa city, and it was 2am or so and highway 151 in iowa is always lawless and empty, i did about 100 the whole way. And then after i got on to hwy 61 just south of Dubuque i was doing 65 (in a 55) and a state trooper pulled me over. quite ironic i thought.

Probably the fastest where got a ticket on Rt. 3 in New Jersey back in the 1970's commuting to college, doing 72 in a 55 mph zone. Of course I have driven much faster in the same spot since then so long as cops not there. Often drive 80-85 on I-roads in various areas of the USA without tickets. Have driven without getting tickets was several times in the low to mid 90 MPH range in various cars over the years on I-roads in the USA as well as on the Motorway in the UK.

Got written for 65 in a 50 once and beat it - sort of.

It was a very crooked mountain road and I was doing maybe 55 around the outside of a corner, met the highway patrol going the other way.

When I got to court I stipulated to (did not contest) the certification etc. of his radar unit which put everyone in a good mood as it eliminated about twenty minutes of pointless testimony on their part. I then presented topographic maps of the section of road in question and offered the calculations to prove that the speed for which I was written would have yielded more than one lateral G in cornering. I also offered documentation that my car was good for less than one G in cornering, therefore it was not possible that my speed was that high.

I also showed the calculations that the highway patrolman would have had to exceed 90 mph over the same road to have gunned me where he did, proceed around the corner, do a 180, pursue me and catch up with me at the mile marker where he did. I should have asked him, under oath, how fast he went in pursuit because that math would have blown his case away completely.

The district attorney then asked me if I was a mathematics expert. (Big trap!) I said: "Oh heavens no. Would you like to check my work?" He laughed out loud and said "no thank you." We rested.

The judge said: "Mr [me] you've done an excellent job of preparing and presenting your case. I think you were speeding and I am going to fine you ten dollars." Well ten dollars is a pittance, it is less than a slap on the wrist, it is almost a compliment. So I thanked his honor.

The district attorney came over to my table and said how much he'd enjoyed it. The highway patrolman came over and shook my hand and said: "That was really entertaining. The bailiff came over and said: "That was fun, but you really didn't have to do all that work. There are nomographs down at the highway department that are certified for use in court that would have done the math for you.

I still got a speeder on my record and my insurance still went up.

You mind me asking how a 13-15 year old is allowed to drive a car in Canada? Is it legal? I am not familiar with rules there, so I would like to be educated  Smile.

I was doing 231-235 km/h from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. Usually they have fixed radars here and cops usually don't pull you over unless you are way fast.

This cop was in a BMW 5 series and pulled over in a rest area. When he saw me pass by he turned on his lights and siren.

By the time it took me to slow down and pull over i was quite ahead and took him a minute or two to come over. He asked me why I was going so fast and I told him I was just trying out the car.

He gave me a ticket for going 150 km/h in a 120 zone.

I got one in 1998 going 125 in a 55 at 3 in the morning on a small Georgia state highway just off I-85 out by Lawrenceville.

I got pulled over by a Gwinett Sheriff's deputy, but he didn't have a radar. When he pulled me over, he said out loud "I'm not sure how fast you were going, but I'm pretty sure it was this".

I went to court, told the judge that the officer told me that he didn't know how fast I was going. He asked the officer if he said that, the officer said yes, and I was free.

Recently, I got another one for 88 in a 55. I've had lots in between the two, but none quite so fast.

190km/h on a 20km/hr school zone.. the good thing was that the sign was down on the floor and i didn't see it and it was sunday night.. no kids.. the argentinian policmen just told me this: Sr. You where going at a 190km on a 20km/h zone.. the ticket will cost you 100 pesos at the police station.. or you could give me 10 pesos now and i will forget about this matter...

on another story.. my ount was once speeding to a party coming from the bakery store.. she was stopped.. and the policeman forgave her ticket in exchange for some eclairs.. !!

The only time I was ever stopped for speeding was during the summer, I was going 85 MPH in a 65. Luckily I had a couple PBA cards so I was able to get away with a written warning, or my insurance would have been through the roof. Fastest I've ever driven was 110 MPH it was the middle of the night and no one else was around.

Mine was in New Jersey where I live. Got pulled over by a police Officer when I was doing 101mph in a 65! lol

I did the whole female thing, cried a little saying I had upset someone and I thought they where coming after me.

After a little talk I was let free with no ticket! yay
