That further fuels my desire to gut all smog emissions, put the original running gears from the early 1970s on to my car. That f--king narcissist bastard name Arnold in Sacramento signed some new laws in the hopes of winning the hearts of a few tree huggers!
First and foremost, I was a bit surprised that Arnold did that. Then again, when Tom Ridge first became governor here in PA back in '95; the auto emissions inspection laws and policies he signed gave the Keystone State the highest cost auto inspections in the country. I voted third party when he was up for re-election in '98 as a protest vote.
For the record, there is not one Democrat that would back gutting smog emission regulations. In fact, during the campaign, Kerry and company were accusing W of possibly doing just that if re-elected. Side note: Had there been a GOP-controlled House and Senate during Reagan's presidency, many of the smog and fuel economy regulations would have been stripped or abolished.
Enough on that subject.
When I speak of Ford I am referring to there V8, rear drive cars (Thunderbird, Mustang, Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Town Car, Maurader and LS).
Not too many other car brands have rear drive platforms but they are making a comeback.
Actually, there are other car brands out there that have a majority of RWD cars in their fleet; however, they're all imports... mostly European:
BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Lexus, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Porsche, and nearly every exotic sports car (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maseratti, etc.) out there.
