Stole A Fetus!

Sun Dec 19, 2004 1:26 am

This is sickening, to say the least. I'm willing to bet this twisted murderer will likely be diagnosed as insane (duh), spend some time in an institution, and be back on the streets within 10 years.

Kansas woman charged with kidnapping unborn child
Last Updated Sat, 18 Dec 2004 09:46:13 EST
MARYVILLE, MO. - A Kansas woman has admitted that she strangled a pregnant woman and cut the unborn child from her womb, say Missouri authorities.

A criminal complaint says Lisa Montgomery strangled Bobbie Jo Stinnett – who was eight months pregnant – in her Missouri home on Thursday and took the baby.

Montgomery, 36, told her husband she had given birth to the baby girl, said U.S. Attorney Todd Graves.

Police believe Montgomery approached the Stinnett's posing as a customer wanting to buy a dog.

A newborn baby was found Friday in an eastern Kansas home but authorities are awaiting DNA testing to determine whether it's the Stinnett's child.

Doctors said although the baby may have suffered a variety of traumas during the assault, she is in good health and could likely survive if treated.

Montgomery, of Melvern, Kan., has been charged with killing a pregnant woman and kidnapping.

Stinnett had been married for just over a year and was expecting her first child. Her husband was at work at the time she was killed, authorities said.

There have been past cases in the United States where fetuses have been removed from the mothers and then raised by the attackers as their own children.

I hope this lady spends the rest of her life in jail. She should have to work her ass off 7 days a week and give every dime to that kid for the rest of her life.

That kid's life is going to be messed up.

That was a terrible crime against mother and child. Unfortunately, this has happened before. As for working to the bone in prison to support the kid, that wouldn't make any difference. Prison jobs that inmates get pay in the range of ten to twenty five cents an hour, depending on the particular job. There are a few that pay federal minimum wage, but those are usually prison industry jobs where the inmate works for an outside company.

Tragic and sad ordeal. One has to wonder what would drive a person to perform such an act.

One thing that bugs me in this case, besides the lunacy of a woman who fakes her own pregnancy, but what about Montgomery's husband and neighbors? How the heck does her husband spend nine months believing that his wife is pregnant? They had other kids so he should know the signs of a pregnacy. Also the story says that she came home the next day with the baby. Did her idiot husband not even ask to go to the hospital?
