Netflix Vs. Competitors?

Thu Dec 30, 2004 4:14 am

I see that Blockbuster Online is now offering a service similar to Netflix-- except $3.00 per month cheaper. Unlimited DVD's, no postage, for $17.95 per month with Netflix, vs $14.95 for Blockbuster.

Do any of you have experience with these two services or anything similar? Any recommendations?

My wife signed us up for Netflix a few months back. To be honest, we're probably not getting the most use out of it as we could to be cost effective, but I have to admit it's pretty cool.

I thought the logistics of mailing them and the time involved would be a deterrent, but it's worked out very smoothly.

Their website seems easy enough to use and select the movies you want to put on your queue.

Netflix has lived up to the hype. They've earned my business, and they'll keep it. I'm not jumping to Blockbuster for a lousy three bucks.

Netflix rocks! This is probably one of the smartest .com businesses I've seen. They've made it so easy to rent/return DVD's and they have a huge selection of flicks and it's so easy to find films as they've categorized their inventory very comprehensively. They have earned and will keep my business.

They had raised their rates awhile ago, but then lowered them back when they realized they could potentially lose members. I applaud them for that proactive measure. I believe WalMart has something similar as well, but you know the variety of films will be rather limited and un-controversial.
