Republicans: Eat Your Words Please

Thu Dec 30, 2004 3:45 pm

Ok, just because Democrats have gotten so much hell from Republicans about the whole Washington Governor's race, saying Democrats were just sore losers......

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/12/28/washington.governor.ap/index.html

So now who is being a sore loser? He is also demanding a re-vote. Insane

It's well known that both sides have sore losers, I've never seen anybody deny that.

However, you libs choose to ignore the very relevant and important fact that one particular side seems to have quite a bit more cases of 'sore losers'.

Happy to hear you feel that way, Alphie. I guess it hurts to know that you have no case at all, but can't admit it.

Absolutely incredible in it's idiocy.

Coming from a crybaby nutjob like you, I take that as a complement.

You are in no position at all to call people crybabies, my friend. Take a look in the mirror.

Thanks for the chuckle though.

I sense frustration coming from you, rather than a chuckle.

Hello to all...

Since I actually live in Washington state and have been following this VERY closely, I know what is going on. I can say that while yes, Dino Rossi is making a big deal about this and not being a very good looser, Christine Gregoire was being just as big of a sore looser during the first TWO counts. Now that she has FINALLY "won" the election, after the THIRD count she is happy and only now says that it is time for the state to move on. Of course she wasn't saying this when the votes weren't in her favor.

I think that the best way for this big mess to finally be over is to have a revote.

Why would there be a need for a re-vote if the votes were counted? A re-vote is NOT a viable option, because it would allow for some people to change they're vote from what it was before. They voted once. They're votes were counted. The Republicans are good at throwing out votes, and funny thing happens when those votes are allowed in. The Republican candidate loses. I wonder what would have happened in 2000.....Hmmmmm....

They're both whining politicians...

The bigger question: How is a Republican candidate able to make the race this close in a state like Washington? Is Christine Gregoire that undesirable?

Northwest guy...please, people here don't want to hear what a Washingtonian who is aware of the facts thinks...silly man.

Funny, now that she has "won" the third re-count the folks up there are supposed to move on.

One of the dumbest comments I have seen on here. Oh, I see you were somewhere in the 9-11 age range back then.

I wonder what would have happened in 2000.....Hmmmmm....

I wonder what would have happened if all the soldier's votes overseas were discounted as Gore wanted them to be...because they didn't have PROPER STAMPAGE. The whining takes place on both sides. I like how after two recounts the democratic canidate would like to move on, because, she won, so it must be right this time.

Frankly, I don't care either way, but the Republican candidate WON THE FIRST TWO RECOUNTS, while the third recount has given the election to the Democratic candidate.

Contrast that with the Florida 2000 recount when EVERY SINGLE RECOUNT RESULTED IN A BUSH WIN.

Funny, now that she has "won" the third re-count the folks up there are supposed to move on.

That's strange. I could have sworn that's exactly what the right wingers were saying after the 2000 presidential election about Gore.

Look, this is your opportunity to show some testicular fortitude and either confess your just as guilty or apologize to the Dems.

Or better yet, keep letting NWA do all the talking for you. He's the king of hypocracy. You'll be in good hands there.

Cute post on airwhiners btw. Typical right winger. If I don't agree with you 100% I must be an idiot. You know crap like that would be deleted here, so you run to airwhiners. Pathetic.

I think that if all the votes were counted and the Democratic candidate one, that should be final. If that is the case, then Dino Rossi should stop complaining and shut up. This country needs to get over its re-count obsession; if Rossi won, then move on. The only reason for a re-vote would be in the case of missing ballots, or some other mistake like that.

BTW I'm a Republican.

"That's strange. I could have sworn that's exactly what the right wingers were saying after the 2000 presidential election about Gore."

Different situation. If the WA Democratic candidate won every single one of the three recounts, and the Republican candidate was still clamoring for a recount (of only white, Christian, wealthy counties) then you'd have parallel situations.

You have to admit it's a little odd that the first recount gave the Republican candidate a lead of 200+ votes, the second one gave the Rep a lead of 40+ votes, and the final and third recount gave the Dem candidate a lead of 100+ votes.

Hey Non...there is one HUGE difference to your 2000 election crutch...there was never one instance where Gore won any vote count in the state of FL...despite similar efforts by the dems and countless independant recounts after the much maligned Supreme Court Giveaway.

No, I guess I see your point. This is completly different. In 2000 it was the Dem asking for a recount, which is wrong. Now it's the Rep asking for a revote which is acceptable. My mistake.

Glad we cleared that up.  Big thumbs up

No no no...I am sure you are correct, after all Gore did win the initial vote, and the first two recounts only to be supplanted by Cheater Bush in the Third. Still can't believe the Supreme Court gave him the Presidency even after all of the votes were recount and proven to be heavily in favor of Mr. Gore.

THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. How are they the same?

*The Democrats DID NOT WIN ONE SINGLE RECOUNT IN 2000

*The Republicans WON THE FIRST TWO OF THREE RECOUNTS IN WASHINGTON.

I really don't care if the Democrat wins; I'd rather have it over than continue the recount charade. But to compare the Washington instance with the Democrat's attempt at outright thievery in 2000 (and I voted for Gore in 2000, but I learned the error of my ways) is being ignorant of the facts.

Listen to the Republicans back up!! Stick a beeper on 'em! LOL

Let's review the facts ONE mor time, folks.

The FIRST recount in Washington was a MANDITORY(That means required) recount under the LAW(That's the thing we have to obey).

The second recount was asked for by the Democrats because it was so close.

This is the third re-count, including votes the Republicans wantd thrown out. And...again, those votes made the difference. Now the Republicans want to go crying to anyone that'll listen saying how un-fair this re-counts were, blah blah blah blah blah. GET OVER IT!!!! You lost. Jeez.

I fully agree.

Where I disagree is the premise of the thread, that Republicans should eat their words because they were acting like Dems in 2000, when in fact the Dems in 2000 took recounting to a whole new universe of ridicule.

If the Democrats in Washington weren't trying to steal the election, Rossi would not be forced to fight back. Rossi wins the election, wins the first recount, wins the second recount, and loses only after a hand recount in which King County manufactured enough votes to throw the election to the Democrat. A corrupt city run by Democrats (just like Chicago, Philidelphia, etc.) managed to do what Gore was trying to do in 2000. Count, Count, and Recount until yo get the desired outcome.

It is for this reason that Republicans must win outside the margin of Theft/Litigation or else Democrats will demand recount after recount until they can "find" enough votes to win or find a judge who will steal the election for them.

OH B757300.... your posts are always good for a snicker or an eyeroll....

The first recount was mandated by state law.

The second recount was allowed by state law due to how close the race was.

Geography lesson: Washington is a STATE. King County is a COUNTY. Your "corrupt Democratic city caused this outcome" theory, although predictable, is retarded.

I'll give you this... it's amazing what you can spin. If Bush was caught with his dick in a Saudi Prince's mouth, I'm sure you'd find some way to pin it on the Democrats.

OLYMPIA, Washington (AP) -- Republicans are demanding a list of voters in Washington state's most populous county as the party considers a court challenge of Democrat Christine Gregoire's razor-thin victory in the governor's race, officials said Monday.

Please provide ONE example where the "corrupt Democratic city politics" of Chicago caused a statewide election to be swung in Illinois.

Can't? Then your post must be irrelevant.

In fact, it's irrelevant regardless because WE'RE TALKING ABOUT WASHINGTON, NOT ILLINOIS, Einstein.

In fact, Illinois had REPUBLICAN governors for 24 YEARS, until the last one was caught in a MAJOR CORRUPTION SCANDAL, which caused the state to vote a Democrat back in the gov's office.

Hey TW...please review the events surrounding Chicago during the 1963 Pres election...then come back to the thread.

So you have a problem with the theory that King County swayed the election for the whole state once enough "votes" were "found"?

Hey Jamesag96: Just to make sure I understand my task, you want me to research something that happened 41 years ago in a different city and state, and then conclude that the same thing must have happened this November in Washington...yes?

And also, so I can ensure that I'm espousing the correct theory, could you and B757300's please agree on what the conspiracy is here... is it KING COUNTY that stole this election for the Democrats, or the CITY OF SEATTLE? Or did the Democratic administrations of both geopolitical entities conspire together??

Thanks for your help.

Oh I understand the reference perfectly... unfortunately, it's an irrelevant reference.

Um yes, in fact Seattle is in King County, just as King County is in Washington, just as Washington is in the United States of America. However, they are two separate geopolitical entities with separate administrations.... so again, which one is the corrupt entity that is responsible for stealing the election for the Democrats, or does it really matter to you?

>>Well that says everything I need to know about you.<<

Why thank you... that's big of you to admit that your reference was indeed irrelevant and you acknowledge I was smart enough to see that and call you on it. Very insightful of you.

>>Yeah, I am sure they have no idea who each other are, and have no way of sharing ideals or information.<<

AH! So the conspiracy IS bigger than simply the "corrupt city run by Democrats" that B757300 cited... now we're getting somewhere.

SO... give us more details James... how did King County AND the City of Seattle conspire to "find" the mysterious Democratic votes that evidently were invalid or fake or whatever.... Did Tacoma also play a role in it? When did the conspirators meet and hatch their evil plan? Was Hillary Clinton part of it?

TWFirst, you too. Welcome to my respected users list. hehehehe.

I do find it hillarious that the Republicans can't admit defeat here. After all the crap they gave the democrats in 2000 about the Presidential election, and then even this year in 2004, the same thing. When is it going to dawn on you that you guys are JUST as bad? Can you even admit it? Is it possible that you have the same "conspiracy" theory that the Democrats supposidly had in 2000? Noooo! Never! This is yet ANOTHER Democratic conspiracy to throw the Republicans out of office! The Democrats had to have done it! Why, King County just made these votes up! That HAS to be what happened here, because it isn't possible that Rossi lost...no. That can't be possible my friends. A Republican losing an election in a re-count...These things just don't happen. As proof, enter President Bush's lawyers. The only difference: Bush's brother isn't the governor of Washington, and his campaign manager isn't running the re-count. Folks, we are about to see a serious shock here. The Republicans losing a re-count. And losing it because the they couldn't keep certain votes thrown out! It's a shame, really...
