Anyone catch this PBS special (part II
airing tonight) last night? To understand America 100 years ago (and the world).. this program painted a very chilling picture what it was like. If you haven't seen the program, it's probably best not to comment. It's dripping with racial overtones ..not suitable for the weak hearted (those in extreme denial). One historian noted that in the 20th century only two events sparked coast-to-coast racial riots, the assassination of MLK and Jack Johnson becoming the worlds 1st black heavy weight champion boxer. Even editorials from newspapers such as the LA
Times published some shocking comments! If you can't discuss institutionalized racism reasonably... please pass on this thread.
airs tonight when everything goes south for Johnson.
