Calculus Formula Question?

Fri Jan 21, 2005 5:37 am

What was the formula to find the radius of a nth-order curve?

assume y(x) = A + Bx +Cx2 + ... + etc.

I know it has something to do with the first and second derivative (y' and y").

do you mean radius of curvature? if then it's just

R ={ [1 + (y')^2]^(3/2) } / y"

If memory serves me correctly.

yes thank you! now I think I can find the slope angle w.r.t. x-axis.
