Date Ideas In SoCal?

Fri Jan 21, 2005 12:13 pm

So my girlfriend and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary this saturday. Since she's got 3 midterms the next week, it's mostly my job to decide what to do. For sure something outside. I honestly think I'm running out of ideas on where to go and where to eat. So the question to many of you SoCal a.netters is, anyone know a romantic but not too expensive restaurant in the Orange County area? Also, is there anything else that is good to do after? Thanks!

Dinner at North Woods Inn in La Mirada (right at I-5 and Valley View). Dinner and drinks for two will be in the $50-75 range. Nice rustic yet still romantic setting.

Perhaps a show at the Improv Comedy Club in Downtown Brea after might be nice. Maybe you can go to Huntington Beach. There is no charge for parking after 10PM. Maybe bring a box of firewood and have a fire on the beach and gaze at the waves and the moon/stars. Be sure to bring jackets and a blanket.

Another idea if you are in to clubbing would be Bobby McGees in Brea, on State College, across from the mall, between Imperial and Birch. They have a nice dining area. Upscale steak/seafood/salad menu. Again, dinner and drinks for two will be $50-75. Then when you are done, walk over into the small but hopping club side. There is a dancefloor and a good mix of Top 40/R+B and Flashback 80's music.

Actually she took me over there for my 20th birthday (food was good) and the plan was to go to the club next door. Only they told us that it was 21+ only. It still wouldn't work since she still isn't 21+. The improv sounds pretty nice, but I just checked and weekend shows are 21 and over too.

Yeah, most of the stuff in OC is 21+. I didn't know you had that "issue". Slim pickins' for 18-20 that I know of. I can't help you there. But you may want to consider my beach and North Woods idea.

Find a "Roy's" of Hawaii.

Killer food, about $250.
