Screen Shots...How?

Sat Jan 22, 2005 4:30 am

How do you take a screenshot like I've seen on here? I've tried everything and cannot figure it out.

Press the Print Scrn button on the upper-right side of your keyboard.

Go into Paint, and paste.

You've got a screenshot.

Or, you could get a little program that does everything for you and saves it as soon as you press Print Scrn.

That does not seem to work on my laptop.

I have an HP widescreen and the Print Screen button is in blue and is the lower character on the key. The upper is HOME. Do I have to press another function key with Prt Sc to make it work?

My wife told me to get out the manual but I don't know where it is.

Slamclick,

I wonder why it doesn't work on your laptop. I'll try it on mine next time I use it.

But for every computer I've worked on that has Windows, the Prnt Screen fuction, and paste into Paint always works.

I use this,

http://www.simradar.com/File/2791/FSScreen_Version_1_1.html

It was designed for Flight simulator, but as long as you run Fsscreen.exe it can be used to take screenshots of anything. Much easier than using prt scr button

I have a 1-file program called Snapper. You just hit the Print Screen button and it saves a JPG of your desktop. You can set it to save anywhere. If you want it, holler at me..

I just figured out how to do it. What I did was press SHIFT and then Prt Scrn. Try and see if that works.

Hey Yanksn4 while fumbling for the SHIFT key I discovered another key - FN in blue. The HP "function" key! It did the trick. So thank you.

Love to show it but I don't have any way at the moment of getting pictures hosted on the net.

My current wallpaper is a picture I took a couple of days ago. We have a local ice fog condition and everything will be coated thick with frost until afternoon. So when the sun came out I hung a red ornament in my frost-covered blue spruce and got a really nice picture of it. If you are on my Christmas card list next year you'll get a copy.

Hey Saxdiva I have some old rejection notices if you need more.
I seriously thought about incorporating as a literary agent so I could reject myself and save postage.
