This year the younger brother of a good friend of mine from home was drafted by DC United.
He called up last night to ask for advice on where to live in DC and I just happened to be playing FIFA 2005 (which is pretty much every night).
So we ended up talking about the game and despite being in Hawaii for pre-season training, they still spend all of their free time in the hotel rooms playing FIFA. But the problem that I have with the game is the same one that they have in that many of the players set up in FIFA do not really match up well with their actual qualities. For example, Adu is really slow in the game where as in real life he is one of the fastest players in the league. It also appears that some of the less well know players were just randomly assigned attributes. In addition it seems that teams are much more evenly matched in FIFA than they are in real life with MLS salaries being very competitive with Europe (my friends brother is starting at well under $30k/year).
Has anyone else noticed any inconsistencies with the game that make it a little less enjoyable? It seems like they do a much better job on the other sports such as Madden and Baseball in making things a little more realistic.
Also, why are Korea, Japan, Cameroon and many other good squads in the last World Cup missing from the National team option?
