Live Aid Concerts On DVD

Mon Feb 07, 2005 2:25 pm

I just got the Live Aid DVD for a birthday present recently. I was at the Philadelphia show back on that date. I don't really remember it very well, but many of the performances look very familair now. Wa anyone else there? Has anyone bought it? I strongly recomend that you do. It really is a great trip down memory lane with all the 80's you can handle.

I "was there" via getting up at some un-Godly early hour to start my VCR, way back on that summer day in 1985. Then I spent the rest of the day watching...and watching...and watching.....

Best Performance: Queen
Best Line "I ain't takin' sh*t off!" Madonna (Some nudes of her had just been published)
Best Artists Who Looked Out Of Place: George Thoroughgood and The Destroyers
Most Over Used Rumor of the Day; The possible Beatles "reunion" with Julian Lennon singing his dad's part.
If you don't stand for SOMETHING, you'll fall for ANYTHING.

I was at the Philadelphia show. Seeing the acts at Wembley would've been much more entertaining. TristarEnvy, I concur with your opinions. Queen being my favorite band, and would've awesome to see them rather than most of the acts at the Philly show.
Some of the missing performances:
1.They left out the Rolling Stones set.
2.Phil Collens played a few more songs, Inside out, and I Don't Care Anymore.
3.Madonna spouting off.
