Something Of Value, And What To Do?

Thu Feb 10, 2005 2:30 pm

Hi,

I need some help here. I acquired a year or so back, a newspaper. The date on it is April 15, 1865, the day after President Lincoln was shot. The paper name is 'The New Yorker'. I have a feeling it is worth quite a bit more than what I paid. I paid 60 dollars for it. The condition is pretty good considering how old it is. I want to find someone to keep it from deteriorating any further. Does anyone know how much something like this is worth, or who I would contact?

Thanks,
Ryan

I have never heard of a "New Yorker" newspaper before, nothing came up on Google when I searched for it...The only periodical I know of named "The New Yorker" is the famous magazine, and that was founded in 1925, 60 years after Lincoln was shot...

Put in up on eBay and see what bids it attracts.

And if you do that, put a very high reserve price, as you might not want to have to sell it to a low bidder.
