Anyone Using A Tablet PC?

Fri Feb 18, 2005 5:36 pm

If anyone uses such a contraption, I'll like to know what it's really like in the really world, i.e will it replace an ultraportable laptop and have the same functions/performance.

yeah I have a Toshiba Portege M200. I love it. Great for travelling with, watching movies and I use it to take notes in meetings mostly, when in tablet mode. I have no rom drive though, so I have to play DVD's through an external one. Also the docking station is like £200 which is a bit pricey.

It is a touch gimmicky, but I expect it to get better. Bill Gates has said in interviews, that he believes the future of mobile computing is the tablet.

Sometimes I go about in pity for myself and all the while a great wind carries me across the sky.

I like BCal, have a Toshiba M200, I had two Acer's previous to this, and it's the best one I've used yet. I DEFINATELY recommend a Tablet PC.

A great web site for more info is Tablet PC Buzz: http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com

Check it out, let me know if you have any more questions too!

UTA, I was looking into that one as well, I only went for the Toshiba because of the monitor resolution and what I use it for, I was using a Dell Inspiron 8200 at 1600x1200 and couldn't bring myself to come down to 1024x768, but if that's what your already using it's ok.  Big thumbs up

Definately a good choice either way! That web site has a LOT of good information if you haven't already seen it.

I have the Acer Travelmate C302. I love it, works great.

Unless Acer ups it's res, I will probably pick up a Toshiba as my next TabletPC.
At worst, you screw up and die.
