Medical Advice

Sat Feb 26, 2005 4:45 pm

I was just giving my cat his insulin injection and accidentally jabbed myself with the needle. My cat has used this same needle a few times now, but I am not sure if this will do anything to me because of this. My finger, where I pricked myself, feels tingly and is starting to do a bit of swelling (like a small mosquito bite).

Is there anyone here who knows if this is ok or not? I am kind of getting scared and feeling paranoid.  Sad

Was there anything in the syringe...or was it empty? I guess you should get it checked by a doctor just to be safe.

The syringe was full of insulin. My finger has now stopped tingling, but it has moved to my arm. Might just be a psychological thing caused by slight paranoia. The small swelling remains. I'll see how it is tomorow (doctors closed). I hate waiting at the after hours doctor. After waiting in the waiting room with 100 other sick people for 3 hours, you come out worst than when you went in.

Did any insulin go into your system? If so that can be very bad for you as your body will have to much insulin
