Who Is Up For The Paris Airshow?

Sun Feb 27, 2005 6:57 am

Well it seems this is a massive event. Official dates at 12th-19th of June.

After talking to a few members it seems that a lot of people will be attending..

so who's in for a A.Netters meet up there? Ill be there from the 17th-19th but I am still not confirmed...

So being at the show, having a meal out together, few (many) drinks at the bar?

Im going to do some research on Hotels in the area and transport to and from the Airshow Venues. So who's in  Big thumbs up

thanks all  Big thumbs up

Yep, I'm there. Already got the leave booked and confirmed too.

Might go on Eurostar for a change though. Always wanted to go on it.

I am wondering whether or not I should go or not. The Airbus 380 is not to be missed, but it is right in the middle of my final exams! My priorities are telling me not to go.

Should be able to go...never been to Paris and might want to check it out...if the airfares are expensive, I'll just have to use my miles.

When I was at the Paris Airshow in 2003, it was going on for about a week in June. However, it was only 1 or 2 days that it was open to the public. The other days was for potential customers who are interested in buying planes. This the main time when airlines place orders. Does anyone know when between 12 and 19 June is the "public viewing days"?

Cheers...

Yes, yes, yes!

I have had my flights booked since October for this! Only paid 51.30GBP for my bmi LBA-CDG flights, which seemed too good an offer to miss!

I'm going to be arriving at around 10:00am on 17 June (Friday) with my flight home departing around 20:30 on 19 June.

I don't know what everyone else has planned but what I'd quite fancy doing is maybe going to the airshow on the Saturday and then maybe going into Paris for a bit of sightseeing on the Sunday (as I've never really seen Paris).

I'll be there. Why don't we all get a restaurant one night during the show and meet. Several of us who went to Seattle were going to do something but the interest level from has dwindled down to about four of us.

I'll send out another email to Stephen and company to set up dinner one night.

AvianceGirlUK, it is only about 5-10 miles from CDG and is on the same side of the city.....

I'd be interested in going just to see the A380 in the air before I bugger off to the US for a while and would probably just go for the day.....Had a quick look on the linked website and can't see any sort of flying programme as yet, anyone know when this is likely to be put together?

Anyone who wants to join me (probably on BA but wouldn't rule out bmi) is welcome to join me for some free boozing in the Terraces lounge or Diamond Club lounge.....

I was going to stick this in Glenn's 'Official' thread but it seems to have been deleted.

It looks like there may be more people planning on attending Paris that any other previous get-together. This will make all the arrangements very complicated if the group is more than what has been done in the past (25-30 people).

I think a preliminary list of names may be a good idea to get a rough idea of numbers. Some people of course will want to make their own plans and not get involved with a group arrangement. However if the figure turns out to be high then it may be much simpler for the arrangements to be split into different regions, ie a European group, US/Canada group, etc with each making their own hotel/meal/meet&greet arrangements etc.

Of course I may be worrying about nothing so lets get a list going and take it from there:

Put me down as a maybe too. I should know for sure in about a month's time.

If I were to go and took Air Frog, I'd depart MAN at 3.40pm and arrive in CDG around 6pm. On the return flight I'd depart CDG at 6.15pm and arrive in MAN at 6.45pm.

With BA I'd depart MAN at 3.10pm and arrive in CDG around 5.30pm. The return flight would be the exact same time as the return AF flight.

I'll keep you all posted though....

kaz and I have been talking and we thought it would a splendid idea to go to LBG on the Saturday and do some spotting for those who wants to at CDG on the Sunday. I'm planning to rent a 9 pax minibus for that occasion if there is enough interest. Am going to find out the costs per person very soon. If I succeed I'll pick up the bus Saturday night and we can leave direct from the hotel the next morning from say about 10:00.
We also sorted out the hotel. It is not very fancy like the NH-hoteles but it is affordable. €55,-/night/room. A full English breakfast is only €4,-. It is located very near LBG and CDG. Parc des Expositions is almost next door according to the website. You can make reservations for the Hotel 1ère Classe de Villepinte by clicking on this link.
