about 25 movies. the last one I bought was "The Firm". Usually pick them up at WalMart or other supermarkets for €10. Never spent more than €15 on a DVD, unless it's a "Must-Have", like the "The Sopranos" Seasons 1 - 4 Boxes which cost me around €200 all together.

Around 120 including one from Blockbuster that we've had since 2003. Wonder how much our fine is now?

You know, I wouldn't mind as much if the film we stole was actually good but 'The Core' sucks proverbial ass!

I have about 100 with about 100 or so more on the wishlist.

For you folks with over 100, 200, even 500 DVD's in your collections, how often do you watch your movies? I buy mine based on rewatchability factor, so I don't have a couple hundred odd unwatched DVD's sitting on the shelf collecting dust.

I try and watch 3 to 4 movies a week... Haven't been so far this year. Maybe about 2 each week.

Plus also like mentioned above, it's becoming cheaper to buy them then rent them with increasing rental fees and lowered purchase prices, or you can even get them used at blockbuster for some decent prices!!

I have two. I'm not telling you what they are.  Wink/being sarcastic

I have about ten videos, though - many taped off broadcast TV. Most of them are weather disaster movies like "Twister."

This talk of huge DVD collections brings up an interesting point. An old MSN.com article interviewed a guy who had some of the very first versions of DVDs put on the market. He went through his collection one day and was shocked to find almost microscopic holes in the discs when held up to the light. I went through my oldest DVDs and was shocked to see a hairline crack in one of them. The moral: back it up! Back it up! Especially if you have a very tough to find collection such as Neon Genesis Evangelion uncut altogether. It may cost a lot but it's not worth the pain when you can't find your favorite movie on DVD. I've been there before and it's not pretty! PS: this is where copyright laws might not always apply. If you're making a copy to keep in case something happens to the original, then it might be legal in most cases. DVD Shrink works well for me; quick and easy to use. Do not get DVD X-copy. It's too clunky and the copies are of inferior quality when you backup your collection.

I have collected DVD's for about 4-5 years now. In this time i have managed to amass a collection of nearly 600 movies and easily that again with TV series stuff. I collect both R1 and R2 discs. Some of my disc's i have never watched, but i will get round to it. I just never ahve the time. I watch on average maybe 1 or 2 a week.

I have finally broken the 200 mark with the purchase of "Friday Night Lights" and "Dr. Strangelove". That movie is funny.
