Help - Computer Problem

Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:50 pm

My computer has stopped showing images on certain websites. I uninstalled adaware a while ago thinking that this may be the problem, its not made a difference. I right click on over the red X and select 'show Picture' and that doesnt make a difference. The 'show picture' tick box in the advanced options of IE is also ticked. This is what it looks like:

My computer seems to particularly dislike expedia.

I am using IE v6 on SP2. I also use Firefox and its the same on that, My pop up blocker is disengaged I dont think its a firewall problem. I dont know what else to do, any suggestions?

I think it might be expedia, since I have also had that problem. Don't know where it's coming from though, sorry!

I guess that's what happens in the end, you start thinking about the beginning.

Some times, dial up services, bandwidth issues, spam/pop-up/firewall/anti-virus programs or lack of a program to display pictures, can deny the display of pictures and only show the x. This sometimes happens here on this site when people post pictures in their posts.

Go to start, control panel, internet options. Click on advanced tab. Scroll down to Multimedia section. Look at boxes, make sure the following ARE checked: Show pictures; play animations; smart image dithering. Chances are, these are not enabled.
