Fundamentalist Religious Terrorism In The UK

Thu Mar 03, 2005 4:28 am

A religious organisation in the UK is currently waging a terrorist war against British citizens. It illegally and dangerously published the phone number of BBC executives. Their terrorism goes as far as convincing cancer charities to turn down donations from sources the terrorists don't like.

The terrorist organisation is terrorising and attempting to remove homosexual police. It is attempting to outlaw words it deems immoral for the general population to use. It is attempting to restrict TV programming to programmes that don't include homosexuals, divorce and other religions. The terrorists call elected officials and governments 'satanic'. They declare all divorcees immoral.

The terrorist organisation has gone as far as to send death-threats to people it feels have no morals and are corrupting Britain. This organisation abhors other religions, especially the Sikh religion, and wants to forbid pupils learning about them in schools.

Of course, all the moderates in this religion attempt to disown the terrorists, but clearly for the sake of the greater good, they should come under suspicion just as much as the real terrorists.

These terrorists don't even live in a country thousands of miles away. And these terrorists aren't Muslim, they're Christian.

Just what evidence is there that Britain faces a significant threat from Islamic terrorism? This government is using this idea to push through highly controversial ideas such as house arrests and ID cards, telling the public they are vitally nessesary for national security. But should we believe them?

Their information comes from intelligence - the same intelligence that couldn't prevent September 11th, and was so sure Iraq had WMD. Exactly what has changed in the intelligence services since the invasion of Iraq? Why should be believe them now, given their recent track record?

There has never been a terrorist attack in the UK carried out by an Islamic group. Indeed, all the terrorist attacks in the UK in the 20th century have been carried out by Christian organisations. Every terrorist death in the UK in the last 50 years has been caused by Christians.

Just why does everyone think it's the Muslims who are out to get us?

I see what your driving at, however those CA plonkers number 600 by their own admission, (got a lot of mass e-mail help from friends in the US when they tried to stop 'The Jerry Springer Opera' broadcast however).

They are so out of place with the mainstream here, they'll mostly invite ridicule.

You missed out animal rights fanatics, they've planted bombs, attacked scientists, even dug up a body to get at the family of a 'target'.

I'd hope and expect, MI5, Special Branch etc, to be looking closely at them.

There's another slightly less weird group that appears every now and then on radio talkshows talking about how immoral TV is. Channel 4 got one of them on their top 100 cartoons programme to tell everyone how horrible the word 'shit' is...right before declaring South Park the 3rd best cartoon ever.

The animal rights fanatics are what groups like CA could turn into, and they're definatly comparable to the apparent 'terrorist-threat' we face.

I am convinced that this mob are flexing their muscles even more at the moment in response to the shift in the USA of power towards their counterparts. Very much a case of "see what they have achieved, why don't we try it too".

Both sides of the Atlantic need to keep a word in mind, one that is going to become extremely relevant.

Lead me not into temptation, I can find my own way there...

Hmm. I know what you're saying, but I think it would be foolish in the extreme to believe that there aren't Muslim terrorist organisations targeting the UK. Equally, I think that whatever side you come down on, the government has a very difficult balancing act to make when deciding how to approach it. There are some dangerous Muslim fundamentalists out there, and they would like nothing better than to get a "spectacular" (in IRA parlance) in London.

Now, intelligence agencies aren't perfect, but the problem with WMD wasn't quite so much the raw intelligence, couched carefully in "might", "may", "perhaps" but the political assessment of those reports. Just because that was wrong doesn't mean everything else will be.

I actually think that Parliament is doing a pretty decent job at the moment in scrutinising the proposed anti-terror regulations. There is no way that the government will get through detention without trial based on the word of a minister, it will have to be judicial in nature. As a matter of interest, it is highly questionable legally that they could. Magna Carta prevents it, and Magna Carta cannot be overruled by Act of Parliament, it is there in perpetuity as a contract between monarch and people.

Now, as for religious extremists, the sad truth is that Muslim extremism in recent years, with the threat of violent repercussions, has encouraged extremists in other religions, who have seen that it works to intimidate - witness the Sikh protests at that Birmingham theatre.

GDB is right. The security services will be taking a close look at this lot.
