Does anyone remember Shasta, a lemon-lime soda (equivalent to 7-UP
), that used to be around years ago? Is it still around?
I spent most of my childhood in the hospital (in St. Louis and Indianapolis), and spent plenty of time in post-anaesthesia recovery rooms and ICUs after my frequent surgeries.
The nurses used to give me cups of Shasta to drink so I would have some moisture; I always saw the can on the over-the-bed tray table. It tasted as good, if not better, than 7-UP
, and provided refreshing coolness and moisture to my parched, sore mouth (which was as often wired shut as not). I can just barely remember the colour or design on the can.
Please let me know whether Shasta soda still exists today. The last time I remember seeing it was at St. Louis Children's Hospital back in the early or mid-1980s. If so, I would love to taste it again, and would like to know where in the USA it is still made.
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made... (Psalm 139:14)
