Public Story Of Saddams Capture A Hoax?

Fri Mar 11, 2005 4:40 am

I just came across this short article in which a Marine that was supposedly involved in the capture of Saddam, claims that the public story of Saddam being captured in a spider hole is a hoax, and that he was caught in a small house in near Tikrit. The marine even says that saddam tried to fight back by shooting at the Marines.

Story here:

Has anyone else heard this, because this is a first for me. I pretty much just take it with a grain of salt myself, but Im just wondering if there is any possible truth to this whatsoever?

Who cares? Either way, he was captured... not sure what the point of making up the spider hole story would be.

the americans wanted to show that he was being pathetic in a hole hiding, rather than letting people know he was trying to go out fighting, fox played up the whole 'ahhh he was telling everyone to fight to the last thing then he was found in a spider hole'

but yeah as much as i would like to belive it its probibly not true

If this story had even an iota of truth we would have heard about it here instead of second hand from some wacky Saudi "news" paper.

For starters, Mr. Hussein was caught by the 4th Infantry Division, not the Marines. (CNN.com Link) Unfortunately, some people will believe anything without any proof.

I give this as much credibility as Chemtrails and the a 757 never hittting the Pentagon.
