here it is...part of the Stratosphere Tower in LAS

Hell no I would never ride on that. I already have a little fear of heights when I'm not in an enclosed space.

A description from The Stratosphere website:

"Insanity-The Ride consists of an arm that extends out 64 feet over the edge of the Tower and will spin passengers at up to three 'G's.' As the ride spins faster and faster, the riders are propelled up to an angle of 70 degrees. Riders will experience the thrill of being flung over the edge of the Tower and literally facing downward at the City of Las Vegas below. The ride is programmable with various ride options. An unobstructed view of historic downtown Las Vegas rewards those riders brave enough to experience three 'G's' at a height of more than 900 feet."

HAHA!! couldn't have said it better!! Weird, but the older I get the more I don't like heights, except in an a/c.

Was in SAF at the Westin St. Regis and they had exterior glass elevators. I was on the 26th floor and I thought I would pass out every time I had to get on the damn thing.

Come September, I'm going to ride it! Hell no on ever riding the Big Shot again, I hate rides where I don't know when the ride is going to launch or drop you. Which is why I hate Acrophobia, Freefall and Deja Vu @ SFOG. I love riding coasters but hate rides that consist of a straight down drop.

I've done the Bigshot and the rollercoaster at Stratosphere a couple of times - the roller coaster is kinda lame, but the Bigshot is something else. Had to have a second ride on that one. Awesome. This new one though? Hmmm...I'd have to spend at least a couple of hours in the bar beforehand.

At this ride at Dorney Park, it can be quite unnerving waiting on line, because the ride operators are all wearing hard hats.  scared

You mean my post? It's actually Dorney Park, in Allentown, PA. Similar rides can be found at other parks, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had one like that up at Six Flags NE.

I think not. That looks.... frightening to say the least. There is no way i'd do that. On some rollercoasters, if there is an accident, you still might live. But if something goes wrong on this one, you're toast, that is AFTER you fall a few hundred feet to your untimely, yet fast, death.

I'd ride it. I used to fear roller coasters when I was a lot younger, but then after I started trying them out, they were a blast. Other different rides, such as this, can be a blast, too. I'm curious, though. The park where I'd always be was Six Flags Great America north of Chicago, and there was a Space Shuttle ride that would go back and forth until, at last, it would do a 360 degree turn. On that ride, the safety features were the over-the-shoulder harness, the bar that lowered to just above the thighs and the seat belt, and that's what I like about the really funky rides. I'm curious if anyone can tell if this ride in LAS just have the over-the-shoulder?

You know, it'd be a problem if it broke down, even if there wasn't a catastrophic failure. Imagine being stuck in the seat hanging 40 feet out from the the building for a couple of hours. I'll bet there's no way to get back to the building if the ride siezes up or something.
