Bank robbed at pitchfork-point, man arrested
KEY WEST — A man accused of using a pitchfork as a stick-up weapon to rob a Key West credit union of more than $2,000 Wednesday morning was nabbed by police at the city's ferry terminal late in the afternoon, authorities said.
Key West police officers on the lookout for a man matching the robber's description spotted 47-year-old Fred Simunovic of Key West attempting to board a ferry to Fort Myers, police said. They discovered $1,859 cash in his pockets, according to Key West Detective Sgt. Donie Lee.
