Question About Laptop/Desktop Computers

Sat Mar 26, 2005 12:43 pm

Hi,

I will appreciate to know, how often it is necessary to make a "disk clean" [of old files] and defragmentation in a computer [lap or desk]. I do it every single day after work [usually at night], but I'm no sure if it's necessary or recommendable to do so.

All comments will be welcomed.

Depends on how heavily you use your system and what your system is doing. High performance applications that are moving massive files around would junk up faster than my home computer running simple files.

That sounds a bit excessive, even if it isn't costing you any time. I defrag every two weeks or so.
I have a three post per topic limit. You're welcome to have the last word.
