Pretty much anything.

The area is pretty tranquil and photogenic. But the water itself is a cesspool and I definitely would not recommend swimming in it.

There is something about the Salton Sea though. Think thats where me and the girl will get married. We can Honeymoon in nearby Barstow. Hell of a town there.

Well now before you write off the Coachella and Imperial Valleys entirely, I should just let you know that I am seriously considering buying property out there. Acreage can be had for a song right now. But in 20 years, urban sprawl from San Diego, LA, and even Phoenix will reach the area, driving land values sky high. Plus if any of the plans to revitalize the Salton Sea succeed, the area could potentially be another Lake Mead or Havasu someday, in which case, again, the land could skyrocket in value.

Damn. Hook it up. You buy the land and I'll rent some of it for a nice ceremony. As Underboss, it would be a great investment for the family.

And as an added bonus, there are plenty of open and barren areas great for...digging holes....to solve some problems....if you catch my drift.

Just make sure you check out the Calico Ghost Town ghost  , about 10-odd miles east of Barstow off I-10. The biggest tourist attraction around Barstow. Probably the only tourist attraction. If she's into boneyards, VCV isn't too far down the road. idea

You never know what might happen to the area. Look what Las Vegas looked like 60-70 years ago.  scratchchin

Come to think of it, Vegas has similar areas. tombstone

I don't know, the worlds biggest thermometer is a tough attraction to beat!

Nice photos!  Cool
Did you know that's the same location where Tears For Fears shot there 'Everybody Want To Rule The World' video?
