Why Do Fat People Do Robotics Work-Out?

Fri Apr 08, 2005 11:55 am

Okay, this has been bothering me for a while. I tan at a place called "Tan and Tone America." They have what they call, a "Robotics Work-Out Room." It's basically full of a bunch of machines that women, and I guess some men, lay on or sit on that is "supposed" to work your muscles without any effort on your part. The thing is, everytime I go to tan, I see more and more MORBIDLY obese women coming out of that "robotics" room. No telling what they are paying for this "revolutionary" technology. But, you'd think that they'd look around at the place's clientelle and that would be enough negative PR for Tan and Tone for them to get their huge asses out of that place and into a real gym.

Am I crazy? I think I'll stick to a brisk run and some weights.

Have you checked for a McDonalds or a Crispy Kreme nearby?  Yeah sure

IMO I think the mere act of pretending to work out has a pretty decent placebo effect for disillusioned obese people.

If someone is morbidly obese, I'm sure just getting to the gym is a workout in itself. The robot only provides a rest until it is time to leave.

Robotics Work-Out Room

Well, that is a correct term. The robotics are infact getting a workout.
