Shays is a RINO who knows that if he doesn't appeal to Democrat voters he is toast in the 2006 election. He is also one of the idiots who sponsored the anti-1st Amendment travesty called "campaign finance reform" and is also calling for the military to allow homosexuals to serve openly. Most conservatives and Republicans do not care what Shays is spewing. Just like McCain, he is just another fake Republican that the media uses whenever they need a Bush or Republican bashing story.

Everything Delay has been accused of is not illegal. It is perfectly legal to have family work for your campaign and pay them like the other staffers are paid. Most of Congress does this and no one cares. It is legal to take trips paid for by certain types of organizations as long as the trip and who is funding it is disclosed.

However, if Delay should resign, so should Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. A 2003 LA Times story showed that in 2002, Reid sponsored a bill that sent millions of dollars in both cash and government owned land into the hands of private firms. What he didn't mention is that the firms that benefited from the bill employed his sons and son-in-law. Just one example is in return for hundreds of thousands sent to his son-in-law's firm, a company in Las Vegas was given 1,000 acres of prime land.

As for Pelosi, last year she sponsored a bill that got three million for a nonprofit transportation-research organization that donates money to her PAC and her campaign. At the same time the organization was also paying for her aids to take trips to Europe.

The media (along with their DNC and George Soros funded allies) have the long knives out for Delay simply because he is a successful, outspoken Conservative Republican. They've been at it for years in Texas but still haven't found anything illegal. Now because of what he said concerning the out of control courts, is it time for the left to take their attacks national.

However, such behavior is expected whenever the left decides a Republican has too much power. What is sad is when Republicans (not counting RINOs like Shays) would throw their own to the sharks simply to make the media happy and hope the media/DNC/Moveon types will then be nice to them.

B757300. you never cease to amaze. You are just not capable of critisizing any Republican-and when you do, you call him/her a "RINO". Well, guess what? Not every Republican thinks this guy is the cat's meow. He's hurting the House of Representatives, and he's hurting the Republican party with his arrogance and his pushing the envelope in the name of extremism.

The sooner he goes, the better for the country, and his colleagues. And I imagine, B757300, you may hear a few statements praising him when he leaves (not IF, but WHEN), but privately, even most of his GOP colleagues will be saying "good riddance".

But when the GOP orchestrates the demise of a powerful Democrat, like Jim Wright, it's just fair play, right, B757300?

Count me in to that group. But hey I'm a member of the Republican Liberty Council, so I'm a RINO, right B757300?

I see DeLay going the way that Newt Gingrich did a few years ago. There are serious questions as to DeLay of some political contributions, some of his friends and his hard right views are turning off some key moderate Republicans.
Newt Gingrich, a Congressmember from Georgia, was no dummy and developed around 1994 the 'Contract for America', a simple list of about 10 general areas of legistative priorities for the Republican Party. While a few of those priorities were done, some only partially done and others never carried out, it did make Newt a star for a while. When you become a star everybody attacks you. Then a number of character and potential corruption issues highlighted by the Democarts got him voted out of his district. There have been a number of Republican and Democratic leaders of the Congress or Senate and then have to give up those roles and eventually leave/retire due to character and potential corruption issues.

You mean the bill that strengthened the Repubilican Party from a fund raising standpoint. The one that gave them an even larger advantage?? Or perhaps you had that confused with actual anti-first amendment legislation like the Patriot Act

I am sure he was jumping for joy when Dan Rostenkowski was brought down in a witch hunt, which kept us all from having the national health care that we now pay for in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Heres a bright one by DeLay...When all else fails, blame Democrats:

DeLay asks peers to blame Democrats

Embattled House majority leader appeals to GOP senators
Updated: 10:55 a.m. ET April 13, 2005

WASHINGTON - House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, hoping to hold support among fellow Republicans, urged GOP senators Tuesday to blame Democrats if asked about his ethics controversy and accused the news media of twisting supportive comments so they sounded like criticism.

Officials said DeLay recommended that senators respond to questions by saying Democrats have no agenda other than partisanship, and are attacking him to prevent Republicans from accomplishing their legislative program. One Republican said the Texan referred to a “mammoth operation” funded by Democratic supporters and designed to destroy him as a symbol of the Republican majority...

That's nice isn't it? And the Republicans like to call Democrats whiners.

I guess one thing me a B757300 can agree on is that Tom DeLay should not resign.
That way the Democrats can get a candidate that will beat his arse out of office in 2006. Also with DeLay as the majority leader, many Democrats can link there GOP oppenents to DeLay and possibly regain control or shrink GOP control over the House.

Delay is a crook, of course, all politicians are to one extent or another. I see someone mentioned Rostenkowski above also . . . now that is a great example of crooked politics . . . he and the entire Chicago Daley clan.

Delay should resign . . . he can't blame the Democrats because he has an integrity problem, that's personal. Period.

757300, should homosexuals not be allowed to serve openly?

I, for one, am a supporter DeLay.
