Question For Man City Fans...

Mon Apr 11, 2005 10:48 pm

Why the hell did you sell Ronald Watterhaus to us (Rangers)?
He is one hell of a goalkeeper so it amazes me why you sold him, and kept David "Blunder" James.
Shocking...
Watterhaus has proved a more than reliable substitute for Stefan Klos who is currently out injured until next season.

Rangers must have the two best keepers in Europe now  bigthumbsup

The defence is pretty good now that we sold Boumsong!

Is Inland Revenue still pestering Man City about them trying to write off those reciepts for silver polish as a business expense?

Kevin Keegan wanted to keep him, but David James was always going to be first choice... and, despite the daft "Calamity James" tag that's still attached to him sometimes, he's been one of our best and most consistent performers since we bought him.

Waterreus was in the same position as Arni Arason last season - bench-warming most of the time, but too good to be sitting there. Waterreus was only taken on a short-term deal anyway because the new no.2 we signed in close-season, Geert de Vlieger, put himself out for nearly the whole season with an Achilles injury and we needed urgent cover. In the end, de Vlieger and also Nicky Weaver have returned to fitness quicker than expected, and Waterreus became surplus to requirements. And, having read what he told the press about his short time at City, it sounded like he couldn't wait to get out.

Lets not forget James' brilliant save in the dying seconds at Stamford Bridge... kudos to him! I don't think he could replace David Seaman though, even if he was only with us for half a season.. still the best keeper we've ever had! Big grin

The best ponytail City have ever had, perhaps.  Wink

Trautmann, Swift, Corrigan.....Seaman? Um. No.
