Best Research Website Every Made!

Fri Apr 15, 2005 12:32 pm

WOW! When I first saw this site I was amazed how much information it has on it! Has everything from Cities, Football Players to what destinations American Airlines has from MIA or even BNA. Really a great website and I recommend it to anyone that needs to do a little bit a research. Good site for finding information for the forums. Third best web site ever created after Airliners and Questia.

Wikipedia is *good* but not perfect. It's an editable online encyclopedia that contains a fair amount of errors. I've been nabbed in the butt by relying upon the information there a couple of times and learned to cross-check it.

I'm sure it will perfect itself over time.

Wikipedia is also good if you need to find some information on a person or a select thing, not just airlines and airports.

Known about Wikipedia and its related sites for a while now.

It's a good general knowledge resource indeed. However, for a school research project, the site leaves quite a bit to be desired, for the following reasons:

1) Anyone can edit or create an article, and as a result, you may get a biased opinion on certain subjects, incorrect facts or statistics, or an article missing large portions of important information.

2) This is not original work, and in many cases, it is similar to a research paper from a college student. As such, it is broadly rejected as a source of information by professors and teachers across the board. Since many of Wiki's articles are not cited properly, it is difficult to justify this resource as a legitimate research tool.

Quoting FlyMIA (Thread starter):
Third best web site ever created after Airliners and Questia.

Questia is by far a better research tool...
