I haven't had one of those in years. Spitfire is another good one, as was their Porter.

I had a pint of one of my favorite British beers the other day @ lunch:

I may have to make a beer run because of this thread. I have some beer in the fridge, I just not in the mood for a Duvel or a Sam Adams Black Lager.

I have few I like to stick with, those being (in no particular order):
Becks
Tuborg Gold
Carlsberg Elephant beer
Kronenburg 1664
Stella Artois.
Obviosly they're all lagers, but I'd never hesitate in ordering a Guiness!

I wouldn't subject my BBQ to that. I like my food to be clean.

On the topic of beer though, pretty much James Boag's or Cascade. Classy beers! But Hahn Premium is good too.

Of the internationals, Becks, Carlsberg and Heinken wash down well.

Depends on my mood and what I'm doing:

Before/after an exam or paper:

La Fin du Monde, a wonderful smooth and tart 9% alc/vol brew from Quebec that'll make me forget any exam anxiety after a few bottles. Thankfully a bar right near where I take my worst ones keeps a healthy stock. Also goes down well at home with a favourite snack of assorted fruit, wheat crackers, pate, and brie (no jokes please).

Out drinking with money:

-Guinness
-Sam Adams

Out drinking without money:

-Fosters
-Miller light
Both can be found quite cheaply here by the pint or pitcher

Enjoy at home:

-Corona (only with lime)
-Molson Canadian

I also tried Brooklyn Brown Ale. It was also very good. I must say that the Yanks do know how to ake a good beer  Smile

What is all this lager crap. It all tastes the same in my opinion, its full of bubbles and gives you a stomach most sumo wrestlers would be proud of. And dont get me started about the nonsense from the USA that is more of a water substitute than a beer. No flavour and it looks like urine!

There is no contest

1. Old Speckled Hen,
2. Hobgoblin,
3. London Pride.

Real Ale all the way.

Being a college student I can't afford the good stuff. But if I had a choice, I would choose Corona, Sam Adams, Gordon Biersch, and Sierra Nevada. All good beer.

Most of the time though I have to settle for Bud, Coors, or Miller.  yuck
It'll get you drunk, but it is horrible going down.

The worst beer in existence (and I doubt anyone would disagree with me on this) is Keystone. It should be banned.

I love the hefeweizens.

Paulaner - HW (München)
Hacker-Pschorr - HW (München)
Schneiderweizen - (Regensburg)

Getting my hands on this stuff in the US isn't usually a problem. However, the brewers must filterout all of the yeast (hefe) before packaging their hefeweizens for the US market. I always though the yeast added a little something.

Good non-german beers:

Kirin
Blue Moon
Guinness
