Top 10 Reasons To Fly The A-380 Ala Letterman

Wed May 04, 2005 4:41 am

I was thinking up this post for the reasons to fly the A-380 thread when the topic got deleted, but the product was too good (IMHO) not to post:

So, has David Letterman done a top 10 reasons to fly the A-380 yet?

If not, here are a few suggestions:

10: Virgin Atlantic Airways promises to give new life to the Mile-High Club.

9: You can transport the entire town of Ephriem, Wisconson to Singapore for a vacaton.

8: It promises to be the very latest in exposure therapy for sufferers of claustrophobia.

7. It will represent an increase in construction jobs as airports remodel to accomodate it continuing America's economic recovery.

6. President Bush's detante with Jaques Chirac means the French are no longer "cheese eating surrender monkeys."

5. Since Concorde retired there is an opening for the world's highest flying status symbol.

4. It gives European Union leaders a thrill every time the thing takes off.

3. Flying the A-380 reassures European governments that the subsidies they pay Airbus are good value for money.

2. If the plane was not built, what would members of Airliners.net have to fight about?

1. It supports France's attempt to prove once again that size really does matter.

Keep Smiling,

Charles, SJ

When I first saw the post I thought Letterman had actually made a top 10 list about the A380. Sounds like something he'd do.

Anyway, pretty funny Big grin

If I had anything to say, I would take the billions of Euros that we in the EU waste on subsidising the farmers, and put it to good use and build loads of planes.  Cool

Now that is funny. Big grin

I doubt Letterman would use it. Unless the list provides at least one chep shot at Martha Stewart or Kirstie Ally, he won't use it.

So perhaps one reason should read, "they finally have a plane large enough to take Kirstie Ally on holiday"?

RLMAO!

Hmmm... Let's see. For Martha we could have something like:

With this plane Martha Stewart doesn't have to worry about house arrest. It's big enough to take the house with her.

That's the best I can do at 8 AM, I'm afraid. Can someone else come up with something better?

It's so big that Martha Stewart has to devote two shows to giving it a makeover instead of one.

Possibly? I don't know - I'm not much good at this either.
