Everyone Collects Something... What About You?

Thu May 12, 2005 12:55 am

Just wondering what you guys/girls collect. Anything strange? How large is your collection? Any unique items? Expensive collections? Or cheaper ones?

Keychains from colleges and universities. I still have not put them up for display in my apartment. I have been here since January. I have been able to put on display my other collection: shot glasses. The most interesting one I have has the seal of the University of Utah. Interesting because until the '70s, Utah was a "dry" state (no alcohol).

I take it you have Barnaby Conrad’s coffee table book about Pan Am. If so, I supplied some bag tags used as illustrations.

I used to collect baggage tags. Had tons.

Now I don’t collect anything other than memories.

And for some compulsive reason, I keep Jones Soda bottles.

Shot Glasses. Currently have 313 of them. Some are boxed up - who has that kind of room - some are out.

Star Trek memorabilia. Not all Trek, just specific stuff . . . I know it when I see it. Best item, original edition Sept 1966 1st printing of the book "Making of Star Trek".

That's about it . . .

I collect keychains. Last time I counted, I had around 270. I've added around 10 since then, plus I have 6 attached to my keys. I just took these pictures today.

Here's a pic of them in a mound

Here they are stretched out and down my apartment stairs. There's about a foot of them not in the picture at the top of the stairs (bottom of the pic), and it's hard to see, but they extend almost to the end of the pile of leaves.
