Jennifer Aniston Flees Off BA Plane At LHR

Thu May 12, 2005 12:38 am

Is BA first class that bad?

Found at http://www.femalefirst.co.uk/celebrity/39452004.htm

Jennifer Aniston was so scared of making a trans-Atlantic flight she demanded to leave the plane before it took-off.

An onlooker revealed to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "After two hours waiting Jennifer decided she was too frightened to stay on board.

"She wasn't rude, but just made it clear to staff that she wanted to get off.
"Jen and her aides got off the plane in front of other passengers and she rescheduled her flight for Monday.

"She looked very anxious, it was quite worrying for everyone actually."

The plane has to return to the gate and the baggage has to be located and offloaded. An aircraft cannot deplane a passenger and leave the baggage on board. I had that happen once out of Dublin, just before I closed the door, a passenger decided she was not going anywhere and demanded to get off....we tried to convince her to stay ( knowing it would cause a delay offloading the bags), but she was adamant she wanted off ( we were glad as she appeared somewhat emotional and began acting unstable ). So, off she got, and we had to delay to find the bags in the hold.

After all those engine failures BA has encountered, I don't blame her at all. Actually, I myself have demanded to get off of planes in the past and so I did. Sometimes you just get this anxiety feeling and you just want off. Usually it happens when I get on a plane that looks like it has been around for awhile (interior and exterior) and bad weather, I start getting very very anxious. Maybe she has anxiety attacks like me. Or perhaps she had just seen Final Destination...

Sure do, its a well documented illness, as soon as an individual earns over $1m they suddenly develop a condition known as "Stuck up lazy arse syndrome". Symptoms include memory loss resulting in the individual being unable to perform even the simplest of tasks.

A few well documented cases have involved individuals suddenly forgetting how to order food, make a phone call, open a car door and in some cases even the ability to wipe their own arse.

There is no known cure for Stuck up lazy arse syndrome. In order to survive and live a semi normal life, sufferers are often assigned special nurses which help them during their daily lives. These highly trained nurses are often reffered to as "Aides", "Secreteries", "personal Assistants", 2Minders" and in some countries, "Butlers".

Actually, the reason is because I read it on a german site (www.spiegel.de) and in order to post an english-language link, I googled the words "aniston british" in news.google.com and this was the first result.

Whatever, you're not gonna believe this story anyway...  embarrassed

Silly cow? Come on AirxLiban, leave her alone.

It's not as though she just got onboard and said "nuh uh, this is unacceptable, I'm leaving..." according to the report at itv they'd already been sitting on the tarmac two hours with fuel problems, she wasn't rude and she has Rescheduled a flight for monday...

I couldn't see myself ever getting of a flight because of such things because I know that the pilots and airline aren't going to let a flight go ahead if there is any suspicion something may go wrong, but I can remember at least two times when I've had a little bit of apprehension about being on a flight. The one I'll mention is when we were on the ground in brissie for around an hour after the doors had been shut. There were guys working on the engine as we sat there (don't know what they were looking at) but at the point I was a little bit worried about it.

Four people got off one of my dads AA flights out of Washington last year (maybe it was New York, I dunno) after they had been sitting in the plane, waiting 6 hours because there was three small twister looking things around the airport (I have a really terrible photo of it, You wouldn't be able to pick what it was if you hadn't been told what it was).

I'm sure there are tons more people out there who do jump ship every year when something doesn't feel right to them and you should just learn to accept that fact. She's no pilot and sometimes when your in a situation that you have no knowledge about or uncomfortable with and have no way of controlling it the only logical way of getting through the situation may be to get out of it as quickly as possible, exactly what she did. I'm not having a go at you, but try to show a little compassion...

Cheers,
OzGuy

p.s. Maybe she should get Angie to take her up for a quick flight, show her a few things about how the plane works to build a little confidence or something...

I think the celebrities that have made it big time in terms of monetary earnings should forget about flying commercial airliners and consider fractional ownership of a private jet instead. With companies like NetJets and FlexJet around, even transoceanic flights can be easily arranged with planes like the Gulfstream V or Bombardier Global Express at prices not much higher than First Class tickets.

If I were a big star like Tom Cruise I'd own a private jet and save myself way too much commercial airline hassles.  Smile

Actually there was a technical delay on the aircraft and having waited for about 2 hour she decided to leave. That was probably what caused her decision.
