Man United Have Bad Drivers? Apparently...

Sat May 14, 2005 5:27 am

Well, as if their football results getting worse wasn't enough, and the fact that an American (madman) is buying them, it seems Manchester United are also having some trouble with their players on the road.

Wayne Rooney crashed his BMW X5 into a small Nissan, driven by a 45 year old woman this week. The 19 year old escaped without injuries, but the other driver had to be treated for whiplash injuries. (Isn't that what they all claim to have after a car accident?) Rooney is charged with dangerous driving, and is risking a £5000 fine, and losing his license.

Rio Ferdinand was out driving one morning on 9th January, when he passed the police on the M6... while cruising at 170km/h.
The footballer most likely didn't spot the police car, as he actually passed in and continued at full speed along the highway. Ferdinand will most likely lose his drivers license, the decision will be made May 25th.

GRRRR... Don't even get me started!  gnasher

It's because of idiots like Rooney, driving ridiculously powerful cars and treating public roads like racing tracks, that us sensible, respectful young drivers have to pay such extortionate insurance premiums.

Rio Ferdinand - 106mph - that's 10mph over the speed at which you can be taken to court over your driving. If he doesn't lose his licence, there's really no justice in the world.

Interestingly, those two footballers can't muster a full brain between them. This is what happens when idiots earn upwards of £50,000 a week.  crazy

Mr Ferdinand is in negotiations with MUFC over a new contract, and is allegedly 'demanding' £120,000 a week. Looks like he'll need it to pay his taxi bills!

You took the words out of my mouth ! Not the 1st time these two have been in the spotlight for the wrong reasons.

Mr Ferdinand also needs to remember who payed his £80,000 per week pay packet when he was banned for 8 months. Yes, Manchester United. He shouldnt exactly be asking for more !

These guys need to be talked to by Dany Heatley about driving too fast and getting into wrecks. As a result of his crash, he can on drive to/from practices games, and team events, and his car can only be a certain amount of horsepower (no more Ferraris for him for a while).
