A couple who come to mind:
-Henry Aaron. Not only broke the record, but did it with class, even in the face of racial slurs and death threats.
-John Havlicek. Not the greatest athlete that ever lived, but was a fierce competitor, and always a gentleman.
-Jack Nicklaus. Need I say more?
-Mark Price. When he retired from the NBA, ESPN, to my surprise, did an almost 5-minute tribue to him. At the end, to paraphrase, they said, if you want to teach your young son how to shoot free throws, break a double team, or how to be a man, you won't find a better role model. High praise, indeed.
