What Do You Snack On When Watching Sport Events?

Mon May 23, 2005 3:55 pm

So let's see what you consume while watching F1/NBA playoffs/FA cup finals/etc...

For me Pringles always do the trick except when i'm in the mood for chocolate, then only KitKat (and not Kitekat) will (me) do.

At live games hot dogs have my favor  Silly

You ?

Copious and copious amounts of beer. And if I'm at a Steeler game, maybe a bratwurst or two...

Beer. At the ball game, nothing beats a crummy mass-market American lager. It just goes with the atmosphere.

I would have to say Pringles or CCs Corn Chips for when I am at home watching TV. At a live game it will usually be a Meat Pie or hot chips sometimes with beer depending on the game sponsor.

BBQ flavoured chips, and either coke or beer. Depends on how I'm feeling. When I'm actually at a football game, well with the prices at Canberra Stadium theres a better chance of me going bankrupt then getting drunk.

If I'm watching it live, maybe a beer. Can't really sing with your mouth full of snacks.

At a game in person, regardless of sport, I usually go for the concession stand that sells chicken fingers...that's my traditional stadium food...at home, I'll just eat whatever I have around...

As LHMark said Beer.. It hits the spot. If I eat a hot dog there, I always feel sick for some reason. I know JCS got 2 hotdogs last ball game I went to with him. He loved all 10 seconds of eating them.

Not much for watching any of that, but usually do cook for 'em.

Lotta store-bought stuff, such as chips/dip/salsa, veggie trays, cheese, etc. Toss in some Popeye or Church's chicken (never KFC).

Also, lotta home-made stuff... like various chicken wing flavors, home-fries, onion rings, etc.

Beef Jerkey, sunflower seeds, beer and coke take up all the room on my coffee table on game day.

Coz.. at least I have some carpet to munch on while you are practicing deep throating a bratwurst and sitting by the phone waiting on USAirwys757 to return your call.

Honestly, if it is an Astros game, something alcoholic, it makes the ordeal less painful.

F1 races have all been too early in the morning here for me to consider drinking. Something about consuming ethanol before 11am just doesn't sit right with me. This seems to be the year for all my teams to suck.

When at a live sporting event I usually try to hunt down the Frosted Malt stand. Nothing beats a nice malt with a small wooden spoon!

Hi guys.

For me, when I've planted myself on the couch at home to watch a car race or a round of golf, etc, I get into eating huge Garlic Dill Pickles & Planters peanuts with salt, ......just to name a few goodies.

It's gotta be a snack you don't need to concentrate on ...... or you'll miss something on TV! It's hard to miss your mouth with a peanut! Big grin

Beer or Bourbon.... chips, wings, pretzles. If a lot of friends are over, we sometimes put some beef strips or tenderloin on the grill.

Depends if its baseball or hockey. The Columbia Inferno have a pretty decent beer selection, so usually I'll have a Sam Adams Winter Ale and some pizza between warm-ups and the opening face-off when I go to a hockey game. Baseball games, gotta go with a decent lager (sorry, but LHMARK's cheap mass-produced swill doesn't do it for me) and a hot dog loaded with mustard. Also, I usually get a bottle of water too.
