Dateline NBC. 1994.

Big sting operation up here, Walrus Ivory Tusks/Illegal Hunting/Drugs thing . . .

Unfortunately, none of us UC folks knew it was going to be on Dateline, and none of us were able to see the show prior to it's airdate. NBC was in a bit of a pickle over that one . . .

I have a copy of the tape . . .

I was in a 5-minute segment that was on the news about seat belt usage when Utah was debating a new law when I was a kid.

I was also twice shown breaking boards for local news segments.

Once again, on the news, when 3 classmates died driving home from USC, they showed us (we had flown).

Ive been on a few times. Top of the Pops, Heart of the Matter, etc.

It was fun, and knowing that I was getting more from my licence fee than just tv programs (hitting the pub afterwards) made it sweeter.

As a firefighter I've been on the news a ton of times, usually in the background, or doing something.

I did make a video for MSA's thermal imager when it first came out, the Argus. I was also in all the advertisements, catalogs, and magazines for it.

Once in the broadcast of "The Queen of Spades" from the Metropolitan Opera (1999 I think it was).

And there were rumors that I was on German TV in July of 2003 at an event with Schroder, but I'm not sure whether it's really true or not.

And AirplanePeanut, the only picture I see on that page is of a ferry boat. Got a more specific link?

I was on a local station after a guy effectively killed himself by making a very bad lane change. I was one of the drivers involved in the accident and I was commenting about how bad the interchange was, as it was only open for 20 some odd days when it experienced it's first fatality.

I was in the background on TQS montreal for about one second, while at a blood drive. Anyone from Quebec will know that being on TQS for one second is pretty much the lowest possible way of being on TV. So I think my experience ranks as 'least significant' on this thread.  Wink

About 2 years ago whilst around CDG me and my dad were spotting, we were parked at the end of the Eastern end of the runway (cant remember which runway its called), but anyways theres a lay-by at the side of the road you can pull in, and we were there for 45 mins or so when this car pulls to the side.
It so happens to be a French media team doing a report on Aircraft and Spotters, and we were asked if it was ok if they could get some shots of me and my dad whilst we were spotting.
Lol was a little embarassing at first, having a camera zooming in on you whilst your looking at the planes, but it was actually kind of nice to be "seen" to not be a threat and actually help in explaining why we were there and what we do etc.
And of course later that day in a bar we saw ourselves being interviewed lol, and was realli great to see the way it was presented.
Its not the fall that kills u, its the sudden stop at the end..

Yes I have. When a TV crew came to my primary school. I found a TV camera filming me while I was doing my school work. I was sitting in a chair with the chair leaning against the wall while I was figuring out a maths problem. Next day other kids saying were saying to me "I saw you on TV last night". The other time was when I was in Wellington Central watching a wicked high speed police chase past me. The chase ended in the next street after the car crashed into an empty bus after the cars tyres were blowen by road spikes.

About thirty years ago: saw myself on the evening news, getting into a Huey during a search operation.

About twenty years ago I was interviewed about air pollution.

Don't know what happened ten years ago, guess I missed that one, and I suppose I'm due again.

Also been on the front page of a newspaper and a magazine cover. Was asked to do a TV commercial but I had to fly the day they were shooting. The commercial aired nationwide and the guy they got was better than I'd have been. That opportunity came out of one modeling job I'd done - a brochure for a motel chain.

I've been on a bunch of times for a variety of reasons, but my latest TV exploits involve me being the typical college sports fan camera whore...at 2 televised CU basketball games this year, I made signs and got a TV cameraman to come up into the stands at our arena and put me on TV with them...I know cause I tape each hoops game's telecast and then watch it after I get back to see if I was on at all...

January 26, 2005 - Mizzou @ CU...televised on ESPN Plus...my sign was "MIZZ-WHO?" and I was on twice with that sign

February 8, 2005 - Texas @ CU...televised on FSN Rocky Mountain...my sign was the famous "Hook 'em Buffs" sign that you see in my profile...

Football season is just a few months away, but I already have signs planned out for most games that I'm going to, so we'll have to give it a shot there...

Oh, forgot!

At the 1999 Indianapolis 500 I was sitting a few rows above Davey Hamilton's pit, next to the Yahoo section. Never saw the telecast but I'm sure I was one of 400,000 faces on the tube that day.

Way to many times to count. I was the subject of several comercials between the ages of 6-9 years old. Granted these were local comercials...Hey, I was a local celebrity for a time Smile I was constantly noticed out in public as "The kid from the Custom Eyes comercials!!" Hey, I was popular at school at least Wink

I was on a few regional TV broadcasts as a fan at Portland Trail Blazers games as a young kid...Granted I wasn't the focus of the shot most times...But I got the tape to prove it!

And one other time as a senior in high school. Our school went on a six hour lock down because some lady thought she saw a man carrying a shot gun accross our school's parking lot. By the time we were taken to the middle school close by to be checked out and released...all the news stations were there to cover us, and interview us Smile

I played bass with a band on live national TV in Portugal last year. (Well, it was playback so we didn't actually 'play', much to my disappointment). It was still fun though. Very weird getting back home and watching it on video!
